Am i the only one that thinks this amulet is far to common of a drop from the chest? So much so that you can not even seem to be able to give them away. Was hoping for an item to be a shot in the arm to get players wanting to do the shades burning. But this isn't a shot in the arm >_< more like a punch in the face. Never mind the fact that most of the other items in these chests cause you to lose money burning shades. And level 80 fire making is not the hardest skill to get to but its also far from the easiest.
So why are they so common of a drop from the chests? Are these just meant to be throw away cosmetic items? I just do not get it.

We've seen players showing literally hundreds of silver keys they'd stockpiled in preparation for this update. There's inevitably going to be something of a glut in the market as a result.
Over time, since the amulets all degrade to dust, I'd expect their rarity to feel more suitable. But that won't be for a while. So I'd prefer for us not to rush out and do a knee-jerk nerf based on the launch week rush.
Hey Ash there is also a bug I noticed on ironman. I was at hill giants and an opponent killed a hill giant and left the loot on the floor. I proceeded to kill one myself and couldnt loot the items as they were on the same tile as the other persons. I had to wait for his to disappear, wasn't sure if you guys were aware of this or not. Thanks for the update - Charms

I can understand that as i'm sure you can understand my disappointment that so many are flooding into the game at a ridiculous amount. The prayer exp for burning shades is terrible when compared to other ways to train prayer and the firemaking is even worse then other methods. So the only saving grace for shades burning seemed to be the loot. But its not the best either when compared to other means of making cash. Was hoping these amulets would change that a bit.
But with as many that are in game now and more coming even as we speak it will be months or maybe even years before the price will stabilize. Just a bit concerned with how common they seem to be. And that some one with low fire making can burn shades and luck into a silver key to get them with only 65 firemaking and kind of takes away from the higher firemaking.
I thought or rather assumed that they would be added to the top keys being crimson black and purple chests. And not in the bottom 2 tier chests (brown and red) you can get keys from just 65 firemaking.

Well thanks a lot of giving us all the information about this. How many more random cosmetics are you going to add?
Plus you haven't considered whether we'd like the look of the cosmetic kit. Polls are always good to do
Since the granite clamp got 73% when polled as a stat upgrade, and the complaints at the time were more about the stats than the model, I'd hope that this cosmetic update isn't game-destroying awful.
I agree, 73% is high, and the main issue was the stats so it'd probably pass a poll but the key issue is that old school polls it's updates, when you start adding updates that aren't fully polled then people like myself feel that a bigger update will end up happening without being polled.
You should have at least polled these such as you did with d pick, steam battle staff, the odium and malediction wards.
Original message details are unavailable.
Should a cosmetic upgrade kit for the granite maul be introduced into the Bounty Hunter rewards shop? This upgrade kit would be tradeable.
Using the "it's just cosmetic" excuse is very annoying

They're cosmetics... I don't mind them being added without a poll.
Solomon store is just cosmetics but we don't want that in old school.
Cosmetics can be good but you have to poll whether or not we want it because it's old school runescape and everything needs 75%, if we don't have then what is old school?
I believe in the old school community based model, you can't argue against something passing with 75% because its high and that's the threshold, if more things are added without passing polls or being polled then it's clearly not the community game we think we're playing.

Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.
People disliked the cosmetics in rs3 purely as you had to buy them with real world cash and not with in game gold.
Of course but too many cosmetics is annoying, but the main thing I'm trying to say is that updates being added without being polled is getting more and more. For example the recent corporeal beast teleport wasn't polled and that is definitely more than just a cosmetic.

Úber cool spoiler effect I must say. It really made me play with that spoiler for a while. It's such a harm that I can't use those effects in my translations as I translate the OS news for Runepoli in finnish. But yeah, looks good and likeable.
