Alright, thanks for the reply!
Hopefully we can get that in a poll sometime in the future when ironmen start hitting some higher levels..

Shame about the lack of pmods though, seems you can't even have your private chat on public without getting bombarded with bot pm's to rwt.. :(

Will there be updates for armour sets as the mode pans out over the next weeks, months etc? Aside from the highscores what can be done to allow to be distinguised as an Ironman?

Certainly could do, although I'm not so sure we'd want to have it handed out for free in Lumbridge if it were genuinely useful. The thing about the Iron Man armour is that it's effectively a cosmetic outfit.

Is this THE Ian Gower?!

Yes. He's been away helping the Transformers team for a while, but has transferred back to RuneScape to join us.

Iron Men aside, it's something I'd happily consider developing as an update anyway. We'd have to make a few mapping changes around the doorways, and we'd need to let you pay without wasting an inventory slot on coins (since we don't have money pouches) but those things are solvable.

An easy solution to @IronKop would be to use the iron man armour on normal armours like rune armour, e.g use the iron man helm on a more expensive helm to change its appearance, and give those armours a slight stat boost maybe.

Yeah I wouldn't want it to be free for the record. More along the lines that Ironmen and women have access to smithing certain armours that have similar stats to general armours but were distinguishable as Ironman armour

I think this is a really interesting update that will give people that are "bored" or want to be challenged something to do and of course a valid arguemen* to anyone disagreeing with the update is simple, it's optional and no one is forced to do it, so why complain?. I did, however, notice that there isn't really a dedicated paragraph or list of what perks can come of initiating in the Ironman mode besides the high-scores and armour, but is that it?

I just went through this forum looking for answers to my question about setting up an iron man account on the email address for my current account. It doesn't look like I can, but I'd still like confirmation.

That being said I am really surprised by the haters out there. I have always believed this game, the older version, was and remains a great game. I was continually disappointed when the current game inflated away the value of everything, (items, xp, accomplishments), etc. It has been great being able to come back to this game and now I find I am again disappointed with changes that massively affect the game such as removing all randoms which allows anyone to bot magic to 99 in a few days.

Nonetheless, I have always supported updates that don't really change the basic game. Why not have some new costumes, pets, or emotes? This change is for those of us who want to keep it pure. We want appreciation for the time and effort we spend building our characters without having to worry that 75% of you are going to ask for something that will make that work meaningless.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to setup the new account!
