I've not read through the entirety of this thread, and so I imagine anything I say will just be echoing the already stated concerns of many, but here's my two cents anyway:
07 was brought back because people wanted that version of the game. In fact, they wanted 05. Those who voted to bring it back were well aware of how considerably more time consuming it is compared to the modern Runescape.
For that reason, I think it's important to stay true to the version of the game that was initially re-established. Yes, trading takes a long time, especially when the majority of the world is merching and want something for nothing or offering something for everything - but that's the game as it was.
Instead of bringing back a form of Grand Exchange, which would go against everything this version of the game stood for, I think it's more important to focus on getting the community actively involved in trading through making better use of the resources already available to us, such as the forum.
When I voted to bring back 07, I did it in the hope of being able to play the game I loved in my nerdy youth. I don't think that should be spoiled by those too lazy or too impatient to play the game as it should be played.
With regards to the animals, to quote a previous poster: "it's a stupid way to call something summoning without calling it summoning". That's essentially what it'd be - summoning. It's undeniable that the original version of Runescape has gotten easier and easier over the years, and much of that is due to petty bonus-giving items or health-regenerating familiars. We, the players who voted to play a game without any of this, don't need it.
Generally though, the updates seem positive. Work on removing bots, work on making the game more engaging, but please, don't ruin the core parts of the game, like trading.
