Who said the game wasn't supposed to stray from the original 07? When we first voted for 07 we got to the option that had updates available.
...and some people would say the exact opposite of your last statement, that 07 will become less appealing and slowly start dying. I agree with this viewpoint considering that there is so little variation for high level content. Imagine 07 without GWD, that's what half the high levels are doing these days.

This is about f2p clanning, I don't care about these p2p updates. Changing something that fundamentally will change f2p warring is not what the 07 servers should be about. Allowing spells and magic armor that will make tanking clans nearly impossible will taking the fun out of f2p wars.

Also "we" didn't vote on 07 so you could just vote to add anything to the game that comes to your head, this version is for nostalgic hungry players that wanted a historically accurate version of the game instead of all these new updates.

Come on man, I've been playing rs since 05 or 06.

If by "new kids like you" was meant towards f2p clan wars/f2p pvp & such (which i dont do), then yeah, i guess so since im not too much into pvp.

I do not care about keeping the game "old school." This game should honestly be renamed Runescape-2. The majority of us want development. Opening a developed and interesting Free-To-Play will help advertise the game. No one will "try and buy" a game that is not fun.

All of these updates sound good, with the exception of the following suggestions:


Guthan's Healing Effect with amulet of Damned


The "5 above base hitpoints" increase will not be enough of an incentive for players to replace the current prefered amulet of Fury while wearing Guthans. I suspect a higher base hitpoint increase will need to be applied, such as a +10 or +15. A mere +5 increase wouldn't even be worth the inventory space to switch with a fury while healing, nor the small inconvenience.

Torag's and Verac's Effect with amulet of Damned


The increase in effects mentioned will not be enough of an incentive to replace the fury or to use torag hammers as an alternative. I suggest an additional increase to both of these.


Pets


Can we have a Corp pet, too?


Ancient teleport tablets ftp restriction


15 minutes is an unnecessary time restriction. The same goal can be met with a 5 minute time restriction; warring clan members will not wait even 5 minutes in order to use an ancient tablet when it takes about 3 minutes to get back the regular way. I personally would prefer no restriction, though, because players have always been able to use the ancient teleport spells from the spellbook to get back to the deep wilderness quickly.

That's all. Other than that, great ideas.

If you're not into pvp then do all of the pvpers a favor and don't vote yes to something that will drastically change f2p pvp. I have been playing a little longer than you (not by much) but if you can remember all of the horrible updates in the past that have wrecked the community, I just ask you please don't wreck the current clanning community with another careless update. Just think about it...would you even use this update if you don't pvp? It's not like they are free to play worlds anyways, you have to have a membership to even get on the world so why not just play on a members server? I know it doesn't make much sense either way. The thing players use f2p worlds for is clanning and pking and we all like it the way it is. Go read a different rs forums about this topic and get some opinions that aren't from a bunch of jagex brown nosers.

Just because there is power to the players doesn't mean we have to say yes to every stupid idea jagex can brainstorm....
