You can be proud of what you've achieved so far:

- Preventing Oldschool from getting its own dedicated, old website from 2007.

- Preventing Oldschool from having permanent F2P worlds as it was in back in the real 2007, despite of your announcement that it was a huge success, thus angering your loyal Members even more.

- Disabling yews on the F2P servers? Where's the logic in that? While you're at it, you should also disable other aspects such as lobsters & Oak trees, making the F2P game even more pointless. You've managed to confuse me with your logic Jagex.

Our community will slowly continue to decline as a result of that.


You can be proud of yourselves (Not talking about the OSRS Team, they have nothing to do with that, I'm aware their intentions are good).

You may think after reading my posts: Is this guy nuts? Oldschool has 172K Members', the revenue is great, everything's wonderful, he's talking nonsense.

However, that is only a temporary delusion. Fact is, 450K Members' have voted for Oldscape's return, while only 20k-25K players are actually active accounts.

I'm certain there can be 100K active players on Oldschool, if Jagex begins to treat Oldschool equally to the main game.

With the trial opening up for returning members this gives a great opportunity to get in touch with past Old School players. We were told by a lot of you that some of your friends did*’* want to come back and start a new account and this is the ideal opportunity to let them know that now they can.

For all the clans out there, we will be allowing you to update your member lists in the clan cup if you want to invite some old clan mates to fight for you in the F2P clan cups. Let’s get some impressive turn outs which will help push clans forward and show everyone what excitement you can get.
that solves nothing except get people who havnt played in awhile a free trial, then it closes again.
half the people who continue to play rs3 over osrs don't convert because :
THEY DON'T WANT TO THROW AWAY YEARS OF TIME TO RESTART AT LV 1 ALL SKILLS AND BE LV 3
this free trial stuff does nothing really, osrs is not advertised nearly as much as rs3, so when the player makes an account on the rs3 website, naturally they will begin to play rs3. once they see rs3 2 things will happen:
a: they love rs3 and the eoc and will play that(which is pointless cuz this late gainz mean nothing in that)
or
b: they won't like rs3 and exit the browser and never come play again
if oldschoolwas advertised more then people could come try this over trying rs3 in the first place, why would u come play this if u just began rs3, and enjoy it, because when u come to osrs all the luxuries of rs3 are gone(bonfire, runespan basically everything that made leveling and xp easier).
osrs is alot different from rs3 and they should be markested as 2 DIFFERENT games in a whole, because the way its going now, osrs will slowly die off just like classic did.
and if you disagree, then you clearly dont have a brain, because whats happening now, happened to classic when rs2 was released

You at jagex just dont get it.

You broke the game with the EoC. Nobody asked for it, the game was amazing.

You claim you will listen to players now.

We wanna be members, but we want F2P. That will make the comunity grow. Its empty and boring.

You are forgetting one important thing: if we dont enjoy the game, how many of us will unsubscribe/quit?

You just talk about "becoming members", i dont see you talking about "people dont like the new game and will quit".

Look at how many people wants F2P! Will you listen to us?

I just came back after i quit just after EoC. Came back for old school. Let me show you a graph of quitting members if you dont turn this game the way WE want.

Here's a novel idea. Has Jagex considered making a full F2P option, but adding advertisements to the top as it was in the past? To do this, it would only make sense to make F2P Runescape accessible only through a downloaded client, as one would be unable to bypass advertisements through the use of AdBlock.

To attract more players to OSRS, I suggest advertising in RS3, but not in the approach RS3 has to converting F2P to P2P (pop-ups everywhere gets more people to buy, but it gets less retention as people find it difficult to deal with things so obnoxious). Instead, I suggest adding something simple to RS3 straight from OSRS in the form of the Motherlode Mine (With graphics being taken straight out of OSRS - no added darkness and torchlight effects, no cave textures, etc. - just pure OSRS landscaping and dwarves... and Runite Minor and Prospector Percy looking like oldschool characters, of course). Perhaps you could add pop-ups in the Motherlode Mine to suggest people go to OSRS. If this were the case, I would advise Motherlode Mine be made F2P, as it would help reel in any stray F2Pers who were either always F2P or P2Pers who converted to F2P when they saw RS3 wasn't going too well.

Just a thought. At least take into consideration the advertisements at the top. If RS3 gets them, why can't OSRS?

jagex makes enough money of the players why not return the favour for ones just make f2p server but not as much as there were back in 2007 i cant efford 2 memberships a month you guys need to realize that not everyone can efford 2 memberships a month just to be able to play the game...

We pay for our membership to play BOTH rs3 AND OSRS, so how come rs3's proceeds can't help pay for our costs, since every person from osrs supports rs3.
a bit unfair.
its been a month since trial, have you "analysed" the data, or still trying to find a way to please your money hungry boss AND please your fan base.
Alot of people have been posting valid and good points that haven't been answered, but you answer other questions that are pretty useless, the majority of jagex posts on this thread are all for clarification, NOT answers to questions and suggestions.
Since the membership costs of rs3 and osrs are the same, we should have the same treatment as rs3, if were going to be deprived of content and treatment, then how can you expect us to pay the same price, but not get the same benefits?
osrs needs 2 detatch itself from rs3 in awhole
new website, new name, because im tired of supporting rs3 when the game I love, that I enjoy, that I ACTAULY play is treated like a red headed step child.
and all these new accounts becomming members: how long are they staying a member(part of your analyst? and gold farmers got their free accounts to what they needed, and upgraded them into members, how many of these new subscriptions ONLY played osrs, give us play times of these accounts on rs3 AND osrs)
as others have stated before NUMEROUS times and have yet to be answered: these accounts are not NEW players, I didn't become a member for the first time until i had all ftp quests complete, 50 att,str, and def, 50 ranged and 40 magic(i could wear the best gear, and got access to the new gear at those levels).
as a guy stated before, for the first 20 hours of your first time playing runescape, your trying to figure out wtf the point of the game is, and where to go.

The first time i played runescape i logged on, went and died 2 a goblin and logged out, i didn't try runescape again for a good month or so
