I feel that some sort of gating system (a wall between players who do not meet a specific requirement whether through quest points, skills or some other method) is a much needed factor for Corp Beast. It would be for the best interest in both the economy of the items that are to drop and how much are being put into this economy. Also, this will reduce the amount of people massing at Corp as soon as it is out and throughout time. End game bosses as this and similar bosses like godwars, should not be intended for players who do not want to meet the requirements of such a gating method.
Secondly, I feel the spirit shields of the past were fairly well designed in both requirements and stats besides the Divine shield. While Divine offered a new creative way for players to tank content, it made content much easier to do. With spec transfer, ancient mace and other methods, Divine shields usefulness can easily be exploited to make tanking content entirely too simple. What I propose are these options.
(1. Have Divine shield offer you a new prayer that enables you to mitigate a certain % of (total health or based off current health) in damage while maintaining a somewhat higher prayer drain.
(2. Have Divine shield drain your prayer while it is equipped while in combat. Granted, this option is not very clean.
(3. Make Divine shield have a negative prayer bonus so that you will consume more prayer points per second while being hit (assuming you are being hit by an attack) with the drain% based on damage taken.
(4. Reduce the amount of damage mitigated by the shield currently or increase how much prayer it drains per damage you take.
These options would make the Divine shield an option that would make players decide if it really is best to use in certain situations or not compared to the previous version that was the end all be all of spirit shields and offhands in general.
