I support this 110%. I am currently training this account to be a ranged tank, so let me try to give some of my view. I'll try to break it down fairly simple.

Adding the Corp beast: This gives PvM'ers new content and a harder PvM boss. It will be the hardest boss out (I believe) and give us something new to work for, and add more of a community/team based boss, rather than the GWD which can be duo'd and still be profitable.

Adding the spirit shields: I noticed a lot of people are claiming they're OP, or they need changes. I somewhat agree. The Spectral and Arcane are fine, they were best in slot because they were expensive, had high stats requirements, and weren't easily obtained from PvM without a lot of effort. The Elysian I have mixed feelings about, it has a good mix of strong, but not too overpowered in my opinion. The Divine was pretty silly, anyone doing pvp with this could bring extra prayer pots and never worry about being speced out or combo'd out again. It needs a rework or toned down, however toning it down, I feel the Elysian would just outclass it.

Requirements: Don't put a combat requirement on the quest itself. Myself being a range tank, I max out around 100 - 108 combat, depending on what stats I want to go for. I would suggest skill requirements as well as a high quest point requirement. If players truly want to do corp, they will grind the necessary stats. Don't make it uncompleteable simply because a player wishes to build his stats differently than a maxed main. I would suggest a fair few quests required, such as desert treasure, or even RFD (Speaking in terms of number of quests they required, not them being actual prequests.)

Requirements for shields: I think they were perfect where they were back in the day. The lesser unblessed shields and normal blessed shields gave good stats for their requirements, and if they wanted a better version, they could train the required stats.

Can you let us test out the shields in a beta before you tweak the stats? People are saying they're OP, but I think it was way different back then. Let us test it out in pvp and pvm with whip, staff of the dead, and a cbow for the combat triangle.

I Vote for 180QP requirement since barrows gloves are 176qp. i know people prob would hate to have to get 200+ if their goal was just barrows gloves. also i like the Requirement along with making the stats buffed for each respected shield.

I do support the idea, but what from my point of view would be the best thing to do is make it a 85+ Combat level requirement, 110+ Quest points requirement and Instead of adding the shields (were slowly heading towards eoc) make something new, for example corporal armour or something new, why do we always have to implement stuff from eoc instead of having new stuff which is unique to osrs.

I support Corp idea, couse it make the game a little more desirable for higher levels, since gwd is fun is not challenging enough.

As regarding the corp itself i wouldn't change much couse, as we saw in the vid, douing without summoning is a real challenge, so we are forced to go with a 2+ team to
manage corp.

About the drops, i would add shields, maybe the same name and bonnus orientation but with no overpowered special (ex: divine could absorbs 10% of damage and take it from prayer, NOT WORKING IN PVP OFC). But the drops should be good enough to compete with Dragonfire shield for example, if not no one would kill a level 700 boss for nothing.

Reqs, for me it should be for high level combat (105+ or so) with a certain qp req but also taking into account that maybe some low melee players with high range (90+) can also have the chance to kill corp without "touching" their melee stats (Ex: range tankers).

I have only one concern, as we lack coinshare/lootshare, we should have a way to "Reward" a player that have seen many drops, to have fairly more chances than the other playeres in the room. ( I don't support ge ).

I've stuck around for quite a while. I'm very hyped up and excited to see more of the Corporeal Beast and Rapid Boss. I've compiled a few pluses that I've come to establish after reading this thread.


1.) A NEW crush weapon is popular in debate. I've personally suggested to add a 1H Dragon/Draconic Warhammer, with a special attack similar to Statius Warhammer. I've left no stat suggestions, but highly recommend it to be a relevant item for both the PvM and PvP metagame.

2.) By counting the supporters I've concluded the following. A large number of the player base welcomes Spirit Shields in their former glory, however also have provided compromises "if necessary."

3.) Confirmation on Corporeal Beast mechanics. Ruby Bolt (e) will have a 100 damage cap.

4.) Dark Bow mass suggestion: It was previously stated by another player that Dark Bow masses could devalue the challenge of the boss and its drops. I've recommended a mechanic in which the Corporeal Beast reflects the Decent of Dragons special attack. (Dark Bow.)

5.) Debates have brought in question a Ranged base Spirit Shield, much alike its Arcane Spirit Shield counterpart. I've also seen speculations on a sigil based melee weapon (sword.) I will not voice whether or not I support these without adding suggested stats, speed and special attack.


I also will point out the severe negative I've seen within this thread. I've seen far too many players open the thread and hastily suggest a new armor or weapon. I would be damned if a hasted, ill-produced piece of content were polled. I will not call out anyone. I respect everyone's opinions and wish the best for each and every player.

Corp doesn't need a requirement. The power of the boss, even without having the core mechanic, prevents soloing and duoing fairy well, with the core they will be near impossible. It will require teams or a few maxed players to kill, without stat hammer and without overloads.

The spirit shields were great as rewards and extremely rare, which is fine. The only issue with them is balance. Divine is absolutely way too good for 07, no matter how rare it is. Elysian is probably fine as is, the effect is balanced well and the power level is a good baseline for the rest. The arcane and spectral shields however deserve an upgrade, as I fear with the odium and malediction ward that they would be near useless and it would be terrible to get those sigils, much in the same way as it feels to get bandos boots or a warrior ring, but amplified massively as shields on par with the elysian will be far more expensive than the godswords.

If you're going to re-introduce the spirit shields, please nerf them so that they don't overshadow every other offhand in the game.

A 2h crushing weapon would be great.
