I Skulled I said :
No NO No NO NO NO NO!

NO TO DIVINE SPIRIT SHIELD! its too OP. Max Hybrids are too
STRONG AND UN-KILLABLE!

NO TO SPIRIT SHIELD! NO NO NO NO

This is the beginning of EOC.
Next they will want to bring back STORM OF ARMADYL AND TORVA ARMOR WTF???????

NO TO CORPORAL BEAST AND
NO TO "OP" ARMOR
AND NO TO STORM OF ARMADYL.

Easy there, mate. Nothing's been decided yet. :P

As for your concern about pvp, maybe jagex could nerf the effects of the shields in pvp as several players have suggested earlier on in this thread? Also, if someone is using an expensive item in pvp -let's face it, the shields are probably going to be fairly expensive-, they should get a good advantage now, shouldn't they?

Introduce Spirit Shields as rare drops - Change no stats or effects.
Introduce new best in slot items - Headgear/Magic robes/Mid-high level crush weapon.
This and a req of 100+ combat be fine I think.

On a side note...I would absolutely love to see a red sigil shield as well. Maybe something for range accuracy or damage. I wouldn't mind terribly if shields were rebalanced, no change is just personal preference.

Here's my opinion, and I hope you read it.

I've played this game for quite some time, and I remember the release of the corp beast. I camped it plenty, and it was amazing fun with my buds.. i'm excited to see it's release and anticipate the spirit shields. Yes.. I hope they pass. I usually am against things such as this entering OSRS, as i'm sure you mods have seen me voicing against a lot. I hope these shields pass for a few reasons.

One: They provided different shield incentives for different higher defence accounts with good value coming out of it. You had the arcane for magic, elysian for range tanking w\o losing prayer, and the divine for a good overall PVM and tank shield. The spectral was a good shield believe it or not, for mage tanking and some PVM. It was sort of overlooked which I find sad.

Two: People complaining about the price, I THOROUGHLY believe that if you have the GP amount to fork out as much money as the shields most likely will be - and have been in the past you have the right to use such shields. I owned a divine pre eoc at 950m and I believe paying almost 1billion GP for a shield amounts to the soaking that it brings. I just witnessed a guy 80 spec an abyssal demon, albeit on a task it's a HIGH amount of damage. Having a shield that takes 10 of that damage for 1billion doesn't seem like a bad thing, except for the occasional whiner who can't handle they didn't get a kill because of RNG.

Three: They provide a HUGELY great incentive for people to FFA\interact with each other. If I wasn't corping with friends, I was probably PVPing BHing (sad that didn't pass. Really really sad to be honest.), or FFA corping. FFA brought people together and saw some good drops creating a lot of friends and good fun.

Four: It's easiest to update them as they were and change if too negative

If I can think of any other truly good reasons i'll post them, this was just a quick write up that I hope y'all saw. I know it's long but I hope you read it.

If the Corp Beast is reintroduced into Runescape I would say no to the original spirit shields as this is just going closer and closer to the current Runescape which everyone supposedly hates. The original spirit shields in runescape prior to EoC had great damage reduction at the cost of your prayer which is no issue to players that are rich or buy their gold, so this raises the issue as to some players wont have the spirit shield which will get out tanked by the small few who do have the shields. If the Corp is reintroduced id lean more towards the spirit shields without absorption and just good armor stats, and the possible mid level magic robe set you guys stated.

I prefer the idea of 200questpoint or Questcape,so the questing will be also have a great "reward" and "worth it" even more. Not only a few special quest but for all the time and hard work spent questing. So a lot of ppl won't be just do the dull combat training but go to explore the history and lore of runescape, which is great.

Also 110+combat could be a req. too since Corp was(and is) still really hard.

I could imagine some specific spirit shield drops and the nerfed(by stat) of the older ones. The boss tactic is the same and still find it good.

Hello.

Personally I did not do very much late bossing, like Nex and Corp on pre-eoc.
Still I think that the corporal beast should not drop high level and overpowered spirit shields. It should drop maybe degradable armour, similar to statius and morrigans etc?
This would still encourage pvmers. :)

Thanks for reading this

-Combat level requirement (100+)

This should not be attempted below that combat level anyways.

-Quest Requirement (200+)

Corp really feels like it should be an end-game type of boss, with both end-game requirements and rewards. Quest Point req feels like a no-brainer.

-Introduce Spirit Shields as rare drops - (Change no stats or effects)

I really think the original spirit shield were not that OP, they only became so (notably Divine) after the release of auras, and with the use of familiars. I suspect Elysian will be more expensive than Divine, because the prayer drain on Divine at most bosses will simply be outrageous.

-Introduce new best in slot items - (High level crush weapon, magic armor on par with Bandos and Armadyl)

As you stated, game needs new, strong weapons once in a while. I would make it the crush-equivalent of the godswords on slash, with a Corp-themed special, such as an AoE multi-target magic attack. For the magic armor, I would start by giving full Ahrims a set effect that makes it worth using, then releasing Corp magic armor with no set effect, but slightly better stats to compensate.

Really looking forward to the release of one of my favorite bosses ever, good job Old School team!

Yes. Adding Corporeal beast would add a new vibe to the game. I would recommend the requirements be 200+ Quest Points/115+Combat. There's no reason there should be ANY noobs in the corp lair what-so-ever. The corp is known to be a very powerful monster and having high requirements to enter is a MUST. Ex. if char isn't 115+ "You are not strong enough to slay this beast"/"The Corporeal Beast chuckles at your lack of power" . I think the Beast should not be in the wilderness, we've had enough wilderness updates ex. the rejuvenation.

There should be a new quest series introduced, for the first one introducing the new land expansion of what was stated previously in the last dev blog, and what the Corporeal beast did over the years to cause disruption and discomfort over the land. Then another one teaching you how to kill the corporeal beast- this one must high high requirements 200qp+115cb+.

Just an opinion from a 126.

@players - Don't like what I'm saying? I won't come back to this thread, you have no need to quote this or argue with me, you're just wasting your own time.

Quest points req: 200
combat req: 100

by having a lower cb req maxed pures can join in on the clan events as well!

and the drops should be sigils, but nerfed and so should the req to wear spririt shields so the demand of them would be high.
