Here's my opinion, and I hope you read it.
I've played this game for quite some time, and I remember the release of the corp beast. I camped it plenty, and it was amazing fun with my buds.. i'm excited to see it's release and anticipate the spirit shields. Yes.. I hope they pass. I usually am against things such as this entering OSRS, as i'm sure you mods have seen me voicing against a lot. I hope these shields pass for a few reasons.
One: They provided different shield incentives for different higher defence accounts with good value coming out of it. You had the arcane for magic, elysian for range tanking w\o losing prayer, and the divine for a good overall PVM and tank shield. The spectral was a good shield believe it or not, for mage tanking and some PVM. It was sort of overlooked which I find sad.
Two: People complaining about the price, I THOROUGHLY believe that if you have the GP amount to fork out as much money as the shields most likely will be - and have been in the past you have the right to use such shields. I owned a divine pre eoc at 950m and I believe paying almost 1billion GP for a shield amounts to the soaking that it brings. I just witnessed a guy 80 spec an abyssal demon, albeit on a task it's a HIGH amount of damage. Having a shield that takes 10 of that damage for 1billion doesn't seem like a bad thing, except for the occasional whiner who can't handle they didn't get a kill because of RNG.
Three: They provide a HUGELY great incentive for people to FFA\interact with each other. If I wasn't corping with friends, I was probably PVPing BHing (sad that didn't pass. Really really sad to be honest.), or FFA corping. FFA brought people together and saw some good drops creating a lot of friends and good fun.
Four: It's easiest to update them as they were and change if too negative
If I can think of any other truly good reasons i'll post them, this was just a quick write up that I hope y'all saw. I know it's long but I hope you read it.
