The sooner everyone realizes that life is just a giant game with MTX, the sooner we can get over it and continue on 'Scaping.


Won't this make virtus crash in price except top and bottoms?

No. Will they be affected? Probably. Will they crash? No. 15 Year RS veteran - stock trader for fun - intellectual - salesman

I really think something snapped in the past week or two considering Jagex has attracted the attention of uk parliament and they're considering passing some laws.

Jagex was so arrogant to be the only game company to show up and give them damaging information about themselves - and then lie about said information. Parliament knows better.

They might try to limp along in the future with promotions like this one and the others the past week or two but they're really stuck and its even getting some media attention.

They're cornered rats - either they keep doing what they're doing and accelerate the death spiral or they can stop being such greedy pigs and try to approach monetization in a more rational manner.

But I won't hold my breath - they're the ones responsible for all of this after all.

I don't buy the argument that the average developer is not responsible for this because...

1. They still work for the company and keep their mouths shut about shady actions by "management"

2. There is no evidence to suggest that Runescape updates are made by non Runescape developers.

Conclusion: We'll have to see what happens, part of me thinks that they're trying to make people mad on purpose to force action in the other direction on MTX but another part of me thinks they're greedy ignoramuses who just don't care about the consequences of their actions.

You don't know EA and Epic went to their UK DCMS meetings too? If EA and Epic shrug, why should Jagex care?

Jagex you can't be serious right? i got virtus legs and 50m cash in those 10 free keys and i know im not lucky. You are devaluing items and peoples efforts in this game to make a buck. is there any integrity left in this game anymore?

So much for that mtx statement, you made sometime back of treasure hunter becoming less and it would be focusing more on cosmetics. Seek Balance In Oneself

this logic is really not smart.

if the mtx promos are harming one aspect of the game, it should slow down.

too much xp lamps promos and giving in itens that are obtainable into the game hurts the game economy wich is what keeps like 40% of the players active... if they become too OP they will kill one of the game's most important pillars

tbh, as i said before, going for complete removal of TH is unrealistc and people fighting asking for that are just as delusional as the people saying "TH dont hurt the economy at all , just dont use it". Why cant we go to the midle terms? It would sell even more.

what would be "middle terms"? Well its simple. Instead of selling direct XP lamps , why not BXP stars only? people would still need to level up in game and still need to buy stuff from other players therefore not killing the economy and a pretty close logic can be used for the current shadow gem virtus "event", why didnt jagex just made it so u could get a "token" that would work as a dye to upgrade the look of virtus and made it tradable ? people would still buy keys and the game's economy wouldnt be harmed at all since it wouldnt just add a boss drop for free in TH....


i've been saying this since 2014-5 and the way jagex is going now , they will just give lamps that gives 200m xp all in a few years, lol... just slow down a bit.

tbh i think people would still buy alot from them with BXP events .

there would still be crying peoeple about MTX, but u can see these big riots only come when they just add lamps that gives 700k xp drops (these volcanic lamps were extremely over powered, if u had BXP and bought keys you would get 10m xp in matter of seconds...)

Also they should add more cosmetic events aswel

LMFAO! I love how it takes 10 screens to get a single Black Gem chance, and then it's the final one to get selected no matter what it seems. Cute. And then I get 5m instead of one of the unique items? Hahaha. So lame. Clan:

I like the Mine and Smith update, but they nerfed my bank. I feel my Runite should've all been converted to Elder automatically, or everyone given GP value. Clan:
