welp at least now we know why Meadows left; he was forced to promote this shit

turn back now Jagex or you will come to regret the fury of your player base

the people on reddit are not a vocal minority, most of us are sick of this utter shite

"I'll (Mod Meadows'll) be starting another company soon, it's a much bigger game with a much larger community so am very excited - however I am also incredibly sad as I have loved working here."

Given there are not many games much bigger than Runescape, I'll say more than likely he is going to a game with heavy heavy MTX like Modern Warfare, FIFA, GTA and NBA2K20.

Check that Modern Warfare is about to launch in a couple of week... it is time to start by getting your wallets ready for Supply Crates. :D

Go back to Call of Duty Scream of Duty from whence you came, you ignoramus.

Microtransactions are fine. Jagex is a for-profit company. There is nothing overtly 'game breaking' on TH. Sometimes you win 'big', sometimes not at all. Nobody is forcing you to buy keys. Placing an item you want on TH does not constitute forcing you to buy keys. There are in game methods of obtaining keys if you WANT those items. Nobody NEEDS them, they WANT them. If a player WANTS to spend THEIR MONEY for a chance to the the item they WANT, they are ALLOWED to do so just as you are.

Honestly the amount of complaining over MTX in Runescape is annoying. The fact is, if you don't like it, don't participate. No one is forcing your hand. You don't NEED anything on there, you only WANT it. We all have free will to purchase things in game that we WANT.

The sooner everyone realizes that life is just a giant game with MTX, the sooner we can get over it and continue on 'Scaping.

Big talk, but I wonder how you would react to something you want being paywalled behind MTX. Because over the years, people who've kept saying the "don't like it, don't use it" mantra have, one by one, come to regret it when Jagex has introduced something as MTX that they couldn't just ignore.

Other than that, you really don't need to waste your breath defending a corporation that doesn't care about you; simply look Jagex up at Companies House, read through their financial documents, and you'll see that even if all of their MTX revenue was null and void, they'd still be making some juicy profits. They'll be just fine without MTX money.

So this solves the problem for new players not having access to high lvl armor. If they are rich they can buy levels and armor strait from th and start having fun immediately. I bet this was the logic behind this decision. You also have to consider that mobile is not out yet. Said new players can buy bonds and get the real deal not some gimmick set from th but most importantly you should consider how to introduce the new crowd from mobile to the game in a way they can feel the appeal of a progression based game. Your current tactics are overly aggressive and may have the opposite effect on player retention. You will end up with customers who will never grasp the spirit of RS and will never become loyal.
Just sayn.

Really not that big an issue. New players who go through the progression system aren't whales. Whales won't care about the progression no matter what anyway.

Besides, Runescape "Whales" are just anchovies in other games. For instance, this is the confession of a £500 "whale":

One player told Kotaku that he’s what game companies would consider a “whale,” a term for players who spend a lot on microtransactions. “When I got older and got a job, I started to buy these microtransactions myself. I’d say I’ve spent over £500 on Runescape’s microtransactions alone.

Poor "whale", £500 is not going to get him from level 1 to 80 and then luckily win a piece of Shadow Virtus.
I am going to try and explain this once since you keep posting some nonsensical comment. This is not about money, profit, need, want etc. This is about the culture of the game where all of the above has to be finely balanced so the customers can have a positive experience and not feel like prey. Some things can go too far that is why ppl give feedback. If you agree with Jagex don't bother posting just buy the stuff and let us express our opinions.

@Boldly Rule.
We know you are posting some nonsensical comment when you say this is "the" culture of the game. Do you realize cultures change with time. We can't keep living in the past. If the players today - September 19, 2019 say they are OK with loot boxes because the majority of them think loot boxes are fun and enhancing their gaming experience, their opinions count too. You can't rule them out of "the" culture.

As to you comment "If you agree with Jagex don't bother posting just buy the stuff and let us express our opinions"... what nonsense is that? You are only asking people to post to disagree with Jagex? People can't post to agree with Jagex? What nonsense is that?

they released lucky chaotics 5 years after they were released in game.
these are like 8 years after the items were released in game.
lucky god wars were 5 years after the release of the dungeon

its old content, that could do with an ingame replacement
