The communication regarding this has not been terribly great. Yes, revealing what updates are expected for the Summer is one thing, but (hypothetically) if all three of these updates were to do poorly o release it would ask the question: Where does all our money go ?

An example. Kickstarter has rules in which project creators must present a breakdown of where backers' money is going. It would be good if Jagex were to do something similar, perhaps opening for feedback as to where budget allowances could be tweaked?.

Jagex has nothing to do with Kickstarter at all.

Only people who invested real money in Jagex can request such information from Jagex, and they can even tell Jagex how to use their money if they have enough shares. :D :D :D

That's not what I said at all. I used them as an example of how budgets SHOULD be presented and broken down.

And you are definately a trustworthy source for that. /s

You can go tell McDonald's, GM, Facebook, Amazon, and any company you can think of how heir budgets "SHOULD" be presented and broken down but they know where you opinion will end up and they won't even have to tell you where. Same thing in Jagex, which has been in business for >15 years. :D :D :D

Common sense doesn't even require involvement of any "trustworthy source". :D :D :D

Three of those four companies haven't gone through any recent controversies, and the one that has is free to use (unless if you go for microtransactions in one of those dodgy games). In a time like this, I would like to know what my money will do and where it goes towards, rather than just a vague answer such as "Oh, your money helps us make the game better!" In what way? Content? Graphics? A new combat system?

It's a valid concern, if you ask me. Surely, even a Jagex defender like yourself can see that?

It is their money. They can invest it on anything they like.

You are just a customer or even just somebody passing by if you don't pay. All these companies don't have any obligation to tell you anything at all.

Surely, even a Jagex attacker like yourself can see that? :D :D :D

No, quite frankly, I don't.

LOL. Quite frankly, Jagex and all the real world companies don't care.

Don't forget to share with us when you hear anything about how they "SHOULD" use their money. I hope we can hear something before the end of the world. :D :D :D

Meanwhile, I look up and see everyday, Jagex is still going through their usual monetization business every day... TH, SGS, membership, Premier Club etc.. just that I never found anywhere about how much money they spent on whatever... :D :D :D

Dilberts posts in a nutshell: Jagex got your money, but they dont care for your opinion either way. Invest in Jagex enough to have a hefty amount of stocks in their corporation and they might just consider reading something you said, but will likely just go about their own business anyway. All in all, they got what they wanted from you either way and dont have to do anything useful with it if they dont want to.

Janos seems to want what many have wanted this year and last year.. More Transparency from Jagex! Just a little insight as to what all of our mtx purchases and increased subscription costs are really for, besides payroll, to determine if he should be comfortable continuing to pay this company that doesnt tell us anything.

I dont see anything wrong with Janos' view if that sounds accurate. But i see a lot wrong with Dilberts responses of how Jagex is, and if that is how they are going to continue to act, I wouldnt pay them either. I will wait until i get a decent computer before i start logging in again, so i can actually do what i want and earn free membership through bonds instead of wasting my money.

From what i have seen here, seems a lot of people stopped directly paying them this year and last.. would be a shame if this continued for too long.

I don't think I see you paying Jagex now anyway. Even if you pay, you are just 1 customer, not a stakeholder of Jagex or any real world company. Highly doubtful if anybody care about just 1 customer, let alone telling them how they spend their money.

No. Game developers don't. Fast Food companies don't. Supermarkets don't. Used Car dealships don't... Just nobody... :D :D :D

Communication

In terms of communications, we've not talked to you enough. We'll pot-up defence and communicate more,
show you all what we're working on and better explain our decisions.

While we as the game’s developers sometimes seem to have other priorities, we care deeply for the game too. For most of us here RuneScape is at the centre of our lives and careers. We don’t always get it right, but hopefully you can tell we are as passionate about the game as you are.

Yeah?
