I just find it hilarious to see all you idiots complaining, yet you still have the membership badge beneath your avatar.

This response is the same bullshit as usual, how many times has it happened now? Quit the fucking game and stop supporting them with your money.
We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape.

Don't think anyones problem is the frequency of these promos, we've accepted its part of the game now, however it literally looks like you're doing nothing with the money. The quality of updates in recent years in comparison to previous ones (which had far less revenue to work with) has been a joke.

Unrelated side note: Dimension of the damned was doomed to fail because its braindead (pun not intended) soccermom tier content, rewards are trash, complete waste of time, please don't see the god awful ratings and conclude 'oh RS3 players don't like these events let's focus on skilling updates!', give us something good ffs...

Profiled.

I find the response to be promising - especially considering that the Jagex development teams and Live Events team have their hands tied. By far the most promising aspect is a shift toward cosmetics and convenience rather than predominantly experience-granting promotions. ( *cough* Bringing a few more retro-themed outfits to Solomon’s General Store might be a good place to start! ;) *cough* )

Also, I hope that the Jagex team does not take the retaliation against the scale and magnitude of Treasure Hunter promotions too personally - investors and Jagex’s governing bodies should adopt an interest in securing long-term profitability over short-term bursts. Few games ever make it to the tremendous sixteen years (almost seventeen) that RuneScape has - if anything, it is a testament to the longevity of the game and how well-received the concept is. Changing it to suit modern business profitability models (like mobile games) would be truly unfortunate and uncharitable to the game which is the passion of so many players and developers.

Hopefully if more people start using Treasure Hunter and buying Bonds/Solomons outfits and Mobile is a big success to bring in more players Jagex will be profiting so much to bring us amazing updates.

Also, if people start mainly using bonds to pay for membership, and the numbers of people actually paying for membership reduces significantly, Jagex could even make the whole game free, which would increase the player base and mean more people would buy into the game.

As for TH Specifically, make sure any limited time promotions have reasonable ways of obtaining keys in-game and that special cosmetics make continued returns to the system. That way, people who pay for TH will get cosmetics first, but if you grind the game and work hard you can earn those same cosmetics in the next promotion.

The way you need to balance TH in my opinion is that those who pay get the content first, but if you work hard in-game whatever nice stuff is on TH you can win later on, in a week or so. Never make anything feel unobtainable if it is for a limited time. That is probably what frustrates people the most. Also, make more ways in-game to earn keys and maybe even in-game ways to earn bonds, to help lower the price of bonds because they are way too pricey right now.

As for VIP Membership, those good auras should only remain "exclusive" for that year in my opinion. Some of us have paid for membership since the very beginning and we never get those nice auras. I'm not saying remove VIP Membership, because you need it to help make money, but if you made some really helpful auras the people who pay can have those for the year and then once the year finishes you could let those auras be obtainable to everyone else through Treasure Hunter as a rare prize, just so that people who play a lot can obtain those unique and powerful auras with the keys they earn in-game.

None of this is new. NONE OF IT. It's just the same crap you always tell us and then you keep shoving MTX down our throats... like seriously what the hell?

Actually, a lot of this is new. Previously they said they'd do better.

You can't expect them to fully stop with TH.

they are literally saying they will do better. again.

I am not expecting them to remove TH, it's ridiculous, they need the money. What I do expect is clarity and honesty and not some vague remarks about "we are hiring more people". Do you have any idea of the amount of Jmods that "left" in the previous months? they are just rehiring people for positions they previously kicked others out of.

This means nothing, everything you just said has no value. MTX will stay foot the the floor, XP promotions are going to continue despite you 'emphasizing' on cosmetics in TH. Second chance Tuesday will be removed; ok, but your just going to extend promotions to 1 week long rather than 6 days long to compensate, and then come 2018 second chance tuesday will be back in full swing offering nothing but overpowered XP promotions.

This is nothing more then a PR A$$ kissing cover up
