^Why would you think that considering they're getting released at said time?

Thus that would be pointless as thats the best time to keep them TH only.

So they will be made available off TH but only after DXP.

Thus just be patient and deal with the already available ones or if you want some of the new ones you'll have to buy keys.

it may seem like a cash grab and likely is but there are other reason to make it so you cant just convert what you have laying around or use a stash of the protean crates you got hidden away.

not only do they want to somewhat stabilize whats coming in but im sure they want to see how the new proteans are going to effect things.
if there are any bugs with the new items it would cause alot more trouble with people having converted items they have.
more tickets reported means alot more work when bugs happen. pssst....we know who you are. Hail Sithis!

I don't think they mind the potential for getting some additional key sales out of it, but I think it's mainly about not wanting to create a a huge leap in the number of people with all content/levels unlocked in the newly added protean items.

I got 50 Protean Shakes from TH yesterday, and used a few. I got 2000 XP for each one. I have like 26,000 protean items on hand, mostly in undesignated packs. So, during DXP I could potentially process them all as Protean Shakes, and gain 104 million Herblore XP.

I can outwait them though. I'm in no hurry to gain those levels; I'll be just as happy to wait for the next DXP event, or the one after that...whenever.

^Even if it is that long, i dont mind.

I mean its not like these new ones are anything special anyways.

You still have to visit altars for rcing, thus pretty much making them redundant with unstable essence, and use a range for cook.

The only one thats like the pervious batch is herb.

I took some protean essence and my body talisman to the Body Altar.

When I went to use it, I received a message informing me I could use a higher-tier altar for more XP. I am F2P with 65 Runecrafting. Which altar would this be then? As far as I know, the Body Altar is the highest-tier RC altar F2P can access.

Unless the game is referring to the altars within Daemonheim, this would appear to be an error.

Anyone know what the deal is here? I've been putting out fire with gasoline! ^_^

When I went to use it, I received a message informing me I could use a higher-tier altar for more XP. I am F2P with 65 Runecrafting. Which altar would this be then? As far as I know, the Body Altar is the highest-tier RC altar F2P can access.

Unless the game is referring to the altars within Daemonheim, this would appear to be an error.

Anyone know what the deal is here?

If you are f2p, perhaps it tells you you can get more xp using it on other altars when you become a member.

As a free player, the only place I can craft runes higher than body runes is inside Daemonheim. However, since proteans cannot be brought into Daemonheim, this is not an option.

As you suggest, it's probably because I have the level to craft higher tier runes, but cannot do so because I am not a member. Therefore, the message is mistaken. I've been putting out fire with gasoline! ^_^
