This is as bad as selling Action Bars and Preset Load Outs. I understand money is needed to run but aren't the present MTX systems not enough to maintain the company? Please Jagex don't become more like the AAA game studios.
Please Jagex, stop selling exp: the game loses its meaning if you can just skip past all of the grinding with such excessive amounts of exp handouts. If the game was meant to be fun to play, the players would want to play it, rather than pay to skip it.
Please just remove Treasure Hunter altogether and focus on making the game fun again, designing it so that players want to play the game.
I think you are way to late with this post.
We already way over this point.
This is actually awesome. MTX makes RuneScape 3 get better updates, because of the Money it brings Jagex. MTX also saves the player thousands of hours in game play.
Returning/New players will love this addition, as do players who work/don't have enough free time to spend on RS.
It is very rare you meet a new player that has actually trained their account without XP promotions. Most on this thread need to understand RuneScape is a business as well as a game.
Last but not least, everyone saying they're quitting, is actually online as I'm typing this, so yeah, this is why Jagex doesn't take you guys seriously, as hurtful as this may sound.

I think you're trolling so i'm going to make this quick: what new/returning players are actually coming back to rs3 and loving promotions? The most players rs3 has on at one time is like 25k tops.
Furthermore: Jagex is making more money than they ever had according to their financial statements but its never enough - don't believe their lies when they say they don't have enough money.
People never used to say Jagex was a business - they only started saying that whenever they added squeal of fortune and I guess you believed them.... or like I said you're just trolling.
As an active player, I see returning players all the time. New players too. They may not be that many, but the number adds up over time.
Are you asking what new players, as in which?
Or are you asking what are they going to love? Because you should know that:
a) One of the primary reasons people leave runescape (both, as new and old players, but also as returning players) is having no free time to spend on runescape to keep up - and mtx allows them to keep up through selling them exp and such
b) One of the primary reasons people return to the game/people don't quit the game are new updates, which happen with the help of the money earned through MTX.
MTX is essential for this game, as much as I hate to admit it.
I don't know if Jagex truly makes more money than they used to, but one thing's for sure, the playerbase has declined greatly (as it does for every game
this
old) and that means they have to work much harder to earn the same amount or more. Money doesn't grow on trees for everyone, so just throwing in (and perhaps forcing) MTX constantly would've resulted in everyone leaving. As you can see, the game's still going, meaning MTX is not only entirely optional, but also decent/good to many, along with the games updates (which, again, are of good quality thanks to earnings through MTX)
As about people saying Jagex is a business when they dislike something, well, isn't that how things are everywhere? Pointing out the flaws when bothered only?
Every game/game company is a business to its owners. Sure, they may love their game too as a game, but that doesn't make it the main goal. The main, original goal is to profit, for every single big game/game company that I know of at least. Anyone believing otherwise is deluding themselves. Can you name ONE big game company/game that's not a business but a non-profit game "just for the heck of it"? For "having fun"?
