I guess the takeaway from this thread is that event promotions need to be done better when requested with equality for all fan sites, and a live chat might be helpful, depending on how it is set up so it doesn't turn into a spam chat that nobody cares about.
Regarding the other stuff...I feel like there are some unrealistic expectations of what the JMods here can/have time to actually do, and people are as a result getting unnecessarily angry when you aren't answered.
Request A: Hey, can we get an updated map of dungeons?
This request is easy to respond to because they just need to forward over a file. When we asked for this, we got them pretty quickly.
Request B: Hey, can you tweet/post about X Y Z thing?
This request is easy to handle and for me, has been a breeze with no issues, but some ignores have been mentioned in previous posts (RS Wiki) so that should be fixed.
Request C: Hey, can we get a new forum created with brand new databases of X Y Z stuff in it, handled in X Y Z way that may require a bunch of unique coding just for us, made on your own time?
This request asks way too much relative to A and B. Obviously it would be great if all fan sites had access to everything we could think of but its so much easier said than done.
Now, if fan sites were more of a priority for Jagex, then you could argue that Request C is reasonable, but I'm sure that we are not. It wouldn't make immediate business sense to put us at a priority.
I would argue that helping fan sites produces long term positive results for Jagex, but very little short term. It's hard to justify Request C-types with hypothetical promises of community building etc. etc. as true as they might be.
I'm not downplaying the usefulness of the suggestions in this forum, I think a lot of them are great, but think everyone here is getting a little unrealistic and should take things step by step if you are angry.
