Been reading up more on Ilujanka lately, wanna talk more about them and can never find anyone to talk about them to.
Decided this was a good a place as anywhere to do so.
Also leaves me a place to mention thoughts about Ilujanka and get any feedback on the thoughts.

See if we can get any lore snippets in the meanwhile. :P

Currently what's been on my mind is the average height of Ilujanka, we saw from Hannibus and Sharrigan they weren't that tall.
Then Vindicta came along. (My character for size comparison.)


So, is the average height of an Ilujanka between Hannibus and Vindicta or is Vindicta just a monstrous size for some reason?
She certainly doesn't get her height from her fathers side.

And then there's the fact that she's wearing her mothers armour meaning Morvannon would have been Vindictas height also?
Also keep in mind that Morvannon rode Gorvek too and Gorvek was completely unchanged in the chapter where we see him with the Ilujanka Egg, meaning his saddle was created for Morvannon to use, the same saddle we see Vindicta make use of.

So I thought I'd step in here and help out a bit. The "erm" here does indeed represent several "greats", simply because I thought the dialogue would be immeasurably tedious with an accurate representation.

The average unaltered lifespan of an Illujanka is intended to not be incredibly long. I believe Mod Osborne and I agreed it to be roughly similar to the human lifespan, give or take a decade or two (it's been a while since I wrote them, so I may be off a bit here). They are certainly not intended to be another 1000+ lifespan race.

The Illujanka have been in MASSIVE decline since Hannibus left them. We didn't want another completely dead race, but the Illujanka people have gone from a blustering populated world and are now a single city. They are on the cusp of complete extinction, if there is to be hope, it will need to be very soon...

In regards to the size. In my mind the Illujanka females CAN grow to be larger than the males. However, Sharrigan and the females on Iaia currently are likely not able to grow as large due to reasons that tie in with their infertility problem.

Fun fact, Hannibus is considered to be quite tall by male Illujanaka standards.

I think it's highly likely they're the next cycle/generation of Dragonkin. Just a little two cents there. Kerapac mentioning their biology is the same, or something. And well. Talking Lizards.

I believe Vindicta isn't too large for her species, her mothers armor fits her after all. Unless modifications were made in a cave?

Humans can be pathetically scrawny or the size of Shaquille O'Neal, so I think the same applies to the Illujanka too, ish.

I hope we meet Hannibus again this year. Nice guy.

Lore from The Watch. Anything from that team I'd consider fluidly canon, until a more story-capable developer picks it up.

That said, I'd mostly chalk size up to game mechanics. Bosses be big. We already know some npcs are not exactly 'to-scale'

I'm pretty damn sure Vindicta is over 1000... Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

@LethalIntent I like the thought of that, I hope they do end up with a more important role than they already do. I also loved talking to Mr. Mordaut, where he says he hopes to have a chance to talk to Hannibus some day.

@Rondstat Yeah, though I mainly wanted to leave game mechanics out of the lore reasons, too easy of an answer. :P

@Hazeel That was brought up in the thread the Average Ilujanka age quote is from.
In fact, Vindicta's age was the reason for the age thread. It came up that she was under a stasis spell while in close proximity to the Queen Black Dragon, thereby immensely slowing down her aging.

It might depend on what Hannibus and Vindicta have been eating, and how much. Ilujanka tended to do farming with the gurh, and Hannibus may have been starving by the time we revived him. Vindicta probably ate a hell of a lot more meat and protein than the average Ilujanka due to being raised by Gorvek, and Sharrigan is of a younger generation than her while being the same size as Hannibus. It might be down to the diet.

I could see it happening; Hannibus and Sharrigan chewing over some seeds, nuts or something like that on Iaia, while Vindicta rips into a massive steak, dripping in blood and having a Zaros symbol singe mark on it. Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

@Ancient Drew Well she was raised by a dragon, that definitely seems a good explanation haha.
