Also, Death said during the quest that he can see the gods' deaths because something akin to a soul forms within them, which will die as soon as they reobtain their godly energy.

Does that mean their death predictions are still valid? I asked about Zaros and it was described as a great heat, like a star.

Well that ties nicely with what Jas said to Zaros when he tried to claim his place as a new Elder God, "A flame cannot become a star no matter how bright". Maybe that's foreshadowing and some God of Fate will actually manage to become an Elder God.
Death's depiction of Zaros' death would be accurate as Zaros would die to become "Zar" (I'm just throwing that name out to respect the naming conventions of the Elder Gods, having only 3 letters), so something on a far higher plane of existence than what he is now. The flame proving Jas wrong in becoming a star.

Or that Zaros will attempt to become an Elder God and in the process of trying to force it. Another Elder will rise up and destroy Zaros.

I didn't do the quest. Can someone explain to me why Jas needed an agent at all?

No idea, and it makes even less sense when you stop to think that this new agent would destroy the very Stone she's put her old dragonkin guardians to secure...

The irony isn't that the agent destroyed the stone she had the dragonkin guardians secure.

The irony is that it's the very guards she installed to guard the stone whom have destroyed the stone.

I asked jas 'Why Are We Here'. She answered something like 'you are a mistake'. I think. If I'm not mistaking it with what she said before my question :P But nothing new.

I was thinking that also, or he dies during the process because it's as Jas said, it is impossible for one to become elder gods.
