This thread is for all those small lore questions and details that people want to have clarified but aren't worth creating an entire thread to discuss. The best way to answer these questions is by first asking the lore player community and so if anybody has a lore question that you think another player may be able to answer post it here and hopefully another player will respond with an answer.

A couple of things to note.

- Answers should not be opinions but rather just solid lore or at least if given to us by a biased source say this source tells us this.
- Try to be as accurate as possible.
- Don't devolve into large arguments simply give the answer as told in a source.
- Do not ask large questions but rather smaller questions that can likely be answered without discussion in a single post.

I hope this thread shall be useful for new comers to the lore community as well as experienced lore community members.

What- Is your favorite color? :P

In all seriousness though- I'm assuming you want all experienced lorehounds to help out and answer questions. Right?

Yeah anybody can answer questions provided they know the answer or part of the answer I guess.

This should prove useful, especially when it comes to updates I can't play yet... Looking through video after video can get annoying.

I have a question about answering- Can we answer with stuff from J-Mod quotes, Postbag letters, Lores and Histories, Armies of Gielinor, God Letters, official videos, the Novels, etc. alongside in-game sources?

Personally, I would make sure to label which ones are from in-game sources and mention the tenuous canonicity of the others (especially if the person asking is new to lore). I would understand if you want us to exclude such things.

Also, what about visual and sound cues from in-game? Can we present those as sources (perhaps with a footnote if what we're referring to has seriously outdated graphics)?

All sources may be used as long as it's not contradicted though of course mention they can be contradicted at any point. Basically just give the details about your sources.

I think we can use sound and graphics etc as long as we say it's not guarantees but our answer is based on that.

Are there horses in Gilenor?

Yes, there are horses. The Lores and Histories stories Twice Burnt and The Song from Before the War both include horses, although those are set in the Second and Third Age respectively.

There are also at least a couple ingame references to riding - Elven 'outriders' mentioned in The Firemaker's Curse (although that reference also concerns the Second Age), and Priest in Peril mentioning the seven priestly warriors riding to Silvarea (although that concerns the Fourth Age).

As for modern times, however, if you travel between Brimhaven and Shilo Village via cart, and don't just use the 'quick' option, it tells you the driver urges the horses on.

Examine messages for various carts ingame, unicorns (including the unicorn stallion familiar), at least one centaur and at least a couple of camels also mention horses.

Despite Eli Bacon in Bringing Home the Bacon mentioning hornless unicorns that were eaten, the quest's developer indicated in the game update FAQ that hornless unicorns are not horses and that horses are still here, hiding behind the scenery and tantalisingly unridable.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.
