I must say, the insistence that absolutely nothing is wrong and it's fine for Dethal to be inactive and barely present is really rather disheartening, to say the least.
Interpersonal issues stop being small peas when they spill out into the larger chat, and if any parties involved are unwilling to change, then that's not something generals alone can stop, because we can't make people behave. Certainly not when everyone rages at a general for doing their job and kicking a known troll who is known to constantly shit-stir and was kicked for shit-stirring, and has shown no desire to stop shit-stirring. And for the record, don't chat moderators exist in part to ensure that people don't treat one another like shit? There is clearly not nothing wrong whatsoever and no need for any kind of change at all.
Now, someone is inevitably going to say "But Alicia, you're just white-knighting! You're just automatically agreeing with everything your BF says!" I'm not. I'm just sick of dealing with shitstorms, trolls who have overstayed their welcome, and generals either being ineffectual or unable to resolve issues and conflicts. Nor do I want to have to worry that I will be attacked and possibly demoted for doing my job and kicking people when kicks are in fact warranted.

If there's an issue, talk it out. Because right now you're being pretty vague as to what this issue is. Maybe you wanna avoid drama? I understand, but this sort of thing needs to be settled on the lower levels first. Calling in the FC Owner should be a last resort. That said, if talking isn't working out, why not kick? If it's a general, then yes, the FC owner is necessary. Try PMing Dethal if you can, but if you can't, then we understand if you need to bring up the issue in the thread.
Just keep in mind that you're asking a lot...you're asking Dethal to give up his account. This isn't something that comes easy and if you feel there needs to be a more active owner, it'd help your case if you communicated the issue better with us. As it is, I come on every day and I rarely see issues, let alone anything worth calling Dethal over, so please help us understand what the problem is.

Our job is to keep a productive chat, not create a safe space. We should stop personal fights, yes, but not censor the chat.

You're a general. You don't need to ask to do your part to resolve conflicts. If you get told off for using your power, it's probably because you're overstepping your boundaries. Generals need to toe a line between managing conflict and censorship. If a conflict isn't personal, it's not an issue.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

No. You're a general and you should always be held up to a higher standard. If you get demoted, then so be it. Getting demoted is not the same as being banned, it just means you're like everyone else. And as far as that goes, Dethal's pretty understanding...he'll let you make mistake after mistake if you at least show a willingness to listen and learn from them.
High standards is what keeps power abuse to a minimum. If Jexel wasn't a general and was constantly banned by someone who didn't like him, you wouldn't be happy and would probably want to see that general demoted. It's the same way for all of us.
Before you kick someone, you need to ask yourself "Is this my problem or the FC's problem?" If it's your problem, then you need to handle it without kicking. We serve the FC, not ourselves. And I'll admit that goes in reverse too...there have been times where I've allowed a conflict to go on too long because it wasn't bothering me personally, but I failed to realize the FC as a whole was being troubled by it. That was my mistake and I needed to learn from it.
Don't worry so much about making mistakes. It happens. You learn from them and don't repeat them. And Dethal isn't going to demote you at the drop of a hat unless you go completely AWOL and ban half the chat. XD If you found that kicking someone wasn't the right thing to do, then try to resolve the issue through discussion instead. Keep an open mind and consider how both parties could improve themselves to resolve the issue.

I'll go ahead and second everything Hazel said. Except for "demotted" -- laughed out loud at that.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

Whose this Hazel person?
On another note, sorry for not being there all the time to see the situations. If someone wishes to provide me evidence about what happened, I'll gladly look into it.
I'm pretty cool
In all the times i've been online, I haven't seen any issue that is so big that Dethal is absolutely needed to solve it. So whatever it is, I'd appreciate it if someone could inform me about it because i'm in the dark here and it looks like a lot of people are.

No one is calling for censorship or a safe space. Had I wanted a safe space of any kind, I never would have bothered interacting with the lore community or any other players to begin with.

Not sure if you've seen the screencaps about what happened last time, but I do recall you were informed on the matter. I would be keen to work closely with you the next time anything of that caliber happens.

In a nutshell, someone went back on a promise, raged when the chat called him out on it, and turned his ire on someone else, slinging cruel personal insults and even mocking her physical appearance. He had also said in the past that she deserved to be bullied.
