Well none of those options jump out as what the current system is.

As of now, Dethal appoints who he feels is best. "Keep the current gens we have now and no elections." Binds Dethal to he he's appointed now. That does not allow him to make necessary changes.

The vote looks pretty rigged if that's the case.

I still don't see the point of adding generals again. IMO the no-general system was working perfectly.

Lupus, if you seriously think that then you simply were not active in the chat prior to the reinstating of generals.

In any case, I vote for Dethalocracy. If he's willing to take matters into his own hands, that's the best option. See below.

Then explain to me the issue because I have yet to see anything that isn't easily fixable with the ignore button.

For almost a straight week beforehand, the FC was derailed on a daily basis (usually more than once throughout the day). I was present for many of them.

These derailments were not solvable via the ignore list; they involved multiple people (I would tentatively estimate 4+), some of whom were normally upstanding members of the chat. Asking people to add all offenders to their ignore list for the duration of the derailment before removing them after the dust settles was a preposterous solution back when this anarchist nonsense was first proposed, and it still is now. The only reasonable solution during these cluster****s was to leave the chat; and I do not consider that acceptable.

Simply put, the social experiment was a failure. Micromanagement of the ignore list is a ridiculous proposition, and people leaving the chat is the opposite of what I want.

The only issue I see in the fc are those who are trying to make the general stuff an issue

Seriously back off and just let it be, they don't have any power and they just have the rank to kick spammers when Dethal isn't around.

Alright, **** it. I have another option for everyone to consider.

Option 4: Dethal passes the gold key to myself. This is of course dependent on both Dethal's willingness to do so as well as the FC's receptiveness to my leadership, but I am personally motivated enough that I thought I'd go ahead and post this.

My goals in running for office (so to speak) are twofold:
1) Making Lore FC as inclusive and attractive a chat as possible, and
2) Eliminating politics from the FC.
Both objectives are intertwined; the elimination of politics is just about the most attractive thing the FC could possibly do short of free gold, and increasing inclusion is the antithesis of politics, which only serves to drive us apart.

To accomplish the above I plan on creating a concise, specific set of rules for the FC, the ultimate purpose of which would be moderation/derailment prevention. Those who violate the rules would be subject to kicks and tempbans; permabans would be a sight rarer, possibly voted on by the FC itself. To enforce the rules I would appoint generals based on merit (no elections). I believe I have a reputation of impartiality necessary for the FC to trust my appointments. Further, the number of generals would be kept to around 10 in order to increase visibility and thus accountability.

Any general found to be failing to moderate the chat, abusing their power, or violating the rules themselves would be stripped of rank and made ineligible for the rank in the future. Reports of such general misconduct could be made on the Lore FC thread, but if given the gold key I plan on creating an FC-specific email where screenshots and other evidence can be sent for more thorough investigation (such an email could also be used for suggestions and such). I believe this system is necessary for the elimination of politics, but balanced enough to prevent abuse of power.

Thanks for reading. Hopefully I'll have your support.

I'm not so sure there, Ral, since I'd still kind of like to be God Empress myself. Your plan sounds interesting, but it has the negative of me not being able to make up rules on the spot, and wouldn't allow me to act arbitrarily and capriciously while having my priesthood attempt to make a coherent story around my actions.

I'm on the same mind of Ascert and Amascut. To add to Ama, why in Infernus do we let someone like Uni be a general? This is just a betrayal to me...
