Telling from what you've said what if Xau-Tak is a Tier 3 or even Tier 2 deity being able to manipulate life? I personally hope he will be extremely challenging for us to take on and remain a villain for quite some time. Or else things will get boring again. Not being completely defeated if we manage to defeat him in a world event, as a world event would only be containment of an outbreak. We would win the battle but not the war against Xau-Tak. "Sea of corpses" could refer to a mound of corpses over a large area or an ocean littered with corpses. Your theory of Xau-Tak if true kind of reminds me of "The Flood"/"The Zerg" or other similar parasitic trope species from the gaming genres. If true maybe he is inspired by this trope.

What happens if it turns out that the Q.O.A is an Auspah goddess who with fiery powers is the best counter to Xau-Tak?

I like the thread, and you have some interesting ideas. However...

Hi there. Just a quick post to try and clear something up. Obviously I can't go into spoilers, but
all the Xau-Tak references I have been working into the game have been in content I have worked on as a major contributor
, as other posters have noticed. Or not noticed, as the case may be. ;) In any case,
I didn't work on the
slayer helmets,
core slayer skill
or desert quests. So the Amascut storyline is, as it stands, not connected to Xau-Tak.

Keep looking though, you've not found all the clues yet!

I've highlighted the relevant parts here.

That means Xau-Tak could infact be introduced in the pirate quest series? Could tutorial island be a part of the pirates quest series? What if Xau-Tak is the one behind Rabid Jack and the Zombie Pirates' mysterious reanimation?

Actually, this thread could use some updating. I'd go look at this thread to learn more. Anyway, I don't know if many of you know of it, but I actually managed to yank a Tweet out of Mod Raven a couple weeks back, that he quickly deleted, leaving me sort of a teaser. The Tweet read as such:

Do you really think you can save them Sepulchre? You can't. There is an atrocity written in black stone. And this is Xau-Tak.

Vague for sure, but I think I got it. The black slab, where you resurrect the Ex-parrot into an Ex-ex-parrot? I mean, Xau-Tak has been called the God of Horrors and Death.. so the fact that a stone, that is black, can bring a parrot back to unlife is.. high likely to be connected. As for what it means exactly.. the stone has a carving of the Black Mask, dropped by cave horrors. So my honest thoughts are this: Xau-Tak is responsible for the corruption of the cave horrors and the jungle horrors found on Mos'le Harmless.

You can also fill out an alignment chart or make one to best estimate what Xau-Tak, Tumeken or Q.O.A's philosophies may be. Just look for the gaps****. Armadyl probably fits in the spectrum within the middle of Saradomin and Zamorak or between Saradomin/Bandos depending on your opinion/perspective but we don't know about him in more detail to be sure.

You probably have ultra-warlike with Tuska being the farthest on that spectrum only followed by Bandos. Seren ends at the maximum of the most peaceful spectrum etc. Maybe Q.O.A could either be between Armadyl and Bandos for example, Armadyl or Zamorak, Zaros already filled in the space between Saradomin and Zamorak.

What happens if it turns out Xau-Tak is a deity who desires both Control and "Order"? Interesting thought.

Well, Raven did ask for a good quote to tweet you. I just directed him to the list of the ones in game that people do not seem to have found yet. ;)

Can you give us any hints about this, Mod Wilson? If there is a LIST of quotes in game that we haven't found, then I would like to find them ;P. I have been around talking to Pirates (What is Davey on Braindeath Island referring to when he says he supposes it will be alright as long as we don't notice that "it's missing?" ), Monkeys on Mos Le'Harmless (Interesting dialogue about their fear of cave horrors), NPCs from various unrelated quests, etc. No dice about that specific piece of dialogue Raven tweeted out, or very explicit references at all :(

Also, would it be fair to call Xau Tak the Goddess of Life-In-Death?
