To be fair I'm surprised Zaros is still so high. Before FotG he was probably one of the most interesting characters in the game. Now he's still very interesting history-wise, but as a character in current standings, he is quite boring. Thanks FotG....

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.
I'm actually glad to see Seren receive a massive spike in popularity. I always found it odd how low she ranked in previous emissary stats. I suppose the fact that a great deal of lore about her is locked behind high-level quest content is a contributing issue here. Still, at least she's in a respectable position.
A surge in Godless popularity is interesting, particularly because they haven't been around much at all since WE3, but they are in a far better standing than any previous emissary statistics (they were once the lowest-ranked, back in the first emissary stat reveal in 2013 if anyone remember).
Saradomin seems to be regaining some traction he lost since the last emissary stats. Bandos losing popularity isn't a shock with him being dead and all, plus the faction's effectively been shelved for the most part as per Jagex's statements. Zamorak and Armadyl lost a fair amount compared to last time, almost as much as the Godless gained, though they still hold the same positioning they have in the overall standing since the last batch.
Sliske losing popularity is no real shock given that it seems KS helped turn him into a legitimate antagonist for most players, and the fact he beats the hell out of us probably didn't sit-well with most players. V would probably be more popular if he wasn't the only quest-locked emissary, but he's pulling-in nearly Bandos and Sliske-level numbers.
Interestingly, the top 3 have remained the same (Zaros, Armadyl, Zamorak), even if their individual percentages are a bit different from the last batch of statistics.
It's not really important, but it's worth noting how grouped these seem. The top 3 are in a 15% or higher range, the middle 3 are within roughly .5% of each other all around the 12% mark, and the bottom 3 taper-off between 2-4%. Again, not important at all, but it's something I find interesting personally.

To be fair I expected Armadyl less popular.
And Zaros more popular, considering.
I'm pleasantly surprised at Zamorak and Saradomins rankings at the moment to be fair.
Not surprised with Armadyl. He has a lack of content, which allows players to make up any fallacious image they want for him.
Even with the lack of content, an obvious flaw from content so far is that he seems...gullible to Saradomin's manipulations.
Also, he seems to lack a spine.
Strength through Chaos!
Zamorak's most loyal assassin.
It seems that a lack of information surrounding Armadyl has contributed greatly to his popularity, similar to how the mystery surrounding Zaros originally helped to make him so popular. And since we've gotten so little content to showcase many of Armadyl's flaws, at face value he's someone that most people could support based on morals.

Or it's the lack of content that is the reason why he has gone down a bit since last time
Lack of content gives Armadyl more of an aura of mystery. What I would like to see is any events from his past when he was mortal, or life on Abbinah before he ascended and stopped the fighting.
As for Zaros, he seems to have lost a little bit of this aura after Fate of the Gods. Yes, his philosophy is better known now (players tend to go for the lesser known factions, hence an increase in Saradominists and Godless due to lack of background information), and Zamorak has been given a positive light which seems to stop the Zamorakians following him out of wanting to play the villain. The villainous types have Sliske, Bandos, plenty of choices depending on their views. They might even follow Xau-Tak...
Still waiting for RoP to happen....

Godless jumping 5 places, Zamorak being second?
Fun
Zamorak is actually in third place, but only because he's less than a percent lower than Armadyl. I'd say they're more tied.
I'm especially happy with Seren gaining in popularity, because I did not like her being lower than Bandos or Sliske. The boost for the Godless is good for fans of the faction, but I'm indifferent to it.
My guess is that the run-up to Sliske's Endgame has been encouraging players to do more quests. I could see Zanik's role in Nomad's Elegy actually doing even more to drive players away from Bandos than The Mighty Fall. Generally switch between Seren and Bandos is good enough for me.

If that link is anything to go by, then ignoring people count, I'll go purely by the % gain or drop for the table.
Zaros: 22.55%
Down 0.23%
Armadyl: 15.92%
Down 3.41%
Zamorak: 15.63%
Down 2.43%
Godless: 12.07%
Up 5.22%
Seren: 11.79%
Up 4.67%
Saradomin: 11.49%
Up 1.46%
Sliske: 4.26%
Down 3.71%
Bandos: 3.64%
Down 3.97%
V: 2.65%
Up 2.2%
Interesting. I noticed a recurring theme among most factions who gained popularity.
Remember Port Sarim's invasion? Guess which two emissaries are right near Port Sarim. People wandered around Port Sarim, like hens without heads trying to find which NPC to talk to to begin the event. Many probably saw those "new" npcs which were nothing more than god emissaries and when they read the option "join" they thought that was the right button to click to begin the event, instead joining seren and godless.
As for Saradomin, same thing. Remember Invasion of Falador? Yup. Same thing there.
As for V well, its emissary is
right
next to the player when you finish the quest. As more and more people complete the quest, more players discover the emissary.
Sorry folks, I wish it were different, but I doubt that there are much people interested in the actual philosophy behind any of the gods outside of our Lore Community. It's something I noticed by doing some clan recruitment drives.
