You seem to forget that Armadyl's new color is orange ( "I have taken on the aspect of the phoenix..." ).
But on to substance.
I was mildly surprised that Armadyl (just barely) maintained 2nd place myself. I thought for sure that Zamorak would have overtaken Armadyl, but it's just not quite there yet.
I also don't think it's entirely fair to blame Raven for the lack of Armadyl content (or even anything like a Lores and Histories). He is just one guy, after all. I can assure you that probably nobody else at Jagex is pushing harder for Armadyl content than he is, we just don't see it.
I'll again question if people are hopping on to bandwagons; perhaps Godless got an influx of people newly declaring after Tuska Comes ? They were doubtless seen as the "none of the above" faction in that event; furthermore, having Vorago (a very well-known boss, basically an icon at this point) as an ally and champion, even if for that one event, is definitely going to be a big plus for the Godless. To be more on the nose about it, Sliske's Scoreboard even uses the Godless symbol for Vorago's score. If anything, I might have expected Godless to have gained even more .
I was surprised to see V gain as much as he did; what with being quest-locked and killed off mere minutes after we meet him. Then again, lots of people still like Guthix and Eddard Stark, so...

It has been a year, so that is probably not the case as not everyone was around for the event. It's the fact that people slowly move from one faction to another, either Role-playing reason, or in-game they had doubt, or someone finally explained what the faction represent, and how they are in a way, good for Gielinor.
Over all I am as well as surprise of all this.
