TBH it wasn't a plot hole Zaros along time ago had planned this and I think he was coming back to give the empire to azzy and Zammy when Zammy over threw him as stated in FOTGs he was withdrawing more and more because he was trying to make good on his promises he made to the mahjarrat and Dragon riders If there's a boss I can slay it if there's a skilling pet I can find it!

Not using spoiler tag because i'm lazy and I think if you've gone this far in the thread you really don't care about spoilers.

1) I believe Zaros will ask Zamorak either for the staff/stone once if he gets it, or for his followers to fight for Zaros during the events of Sliske's Endgame. Also, I really do believe Zamorak will become loyal to Zaros once more during the events of Endgame, but die during the quest. Post quest most Zamorakians convert to Zarosian support, and Zaros will become the strongest living being with the largest standing army, as to set up the war to with elder gods.

2) Also, I believe Zaros will ascend to Elder Godhood at the end of the quest and shit on the Dragonkin. They've been untouchable for faaaar too long and I'll be really disappointed if they don't get shrekt in the events of Endgame.

3) For Endgame I also believe it will be revealed that Sliske's master is Xau-Tak.

My total predicted kill list for Endgame is:

1) Zamorak

2) Sliske

3) Dragonkin

If Zaros does become extremely powerful in the quest, I really hope we see a city or town dedicated to his followers. A new Senntisten, somewhere. Also, Ancient Summoning pls. Jagex pls I want to summon Spirit Wyrm. Jagex pls. gimme.

Lucien--and arguably Zamorak--made it clear that having the stone doesn't keep you safe from rituals.

Well Sliske is a more unique case given he has a higher intelligence than those two. Especially since he's one of the only characters to outsmart one of the Dragonkin.

However it could also be Guthix's energy that's preventing him from degrading.
The statement below is false.

Just found this, wanted to comment on how fun it is to see Zaros fantasies squashed like that. Why would Zamorak ever become loyal to Zaros again lmao?

Well, Zamorak was happy to give Zaros the stone after saving the Mahjarrat, even if he couldn't be loyal to him.

And as for Jas, I would say Zaros was pretty lucky. She could easily have killed him if she wanted to (I'm pretty sure if he asked Ful or Bik they would have destroyed him before he could even speak), and she seems pretty patient and level headed. She might even have indirectly challenged Zaros to prove that he's worthy of becoming an Elder, and to try and get to that power off his own back, and that would be cool. That's probably why she told him and Seren to get out, instead of straight off topping them before anyone could say a word. Jas likes to see what happens.

1. Did you really need to gravebump a thread abandoned 4 months ago to say this?
2. Zamorak was contractually bound to do anything Zaros asked him to do in the Endgame or be undone by the demonic pact. If Zaros asked Zamorak to obey him for the rest of his existence, Zamorak would have had to obey or die.

Yeah, no. Jas told us and Zaros exactly why she couldn't make Zaros an Elder: he can't make life. In her own words, a flame can never become a star however bright it burns. This later bit of dialogue solidifies this:

Zaros:
I have learned enough to know that there are no absolutes. If I can create life, you will accept me as one of you!

Voice of Jas:
Impossible

The response isn't a refusal to accept him as an Elder or a refusal to empower him. Rather, it is an expression that Jas believes that anything 'becoming an Elder' is an impossibility. You either are one already or you can never be one. At least that's what Jas thinks.

Considering what we now know from Sliske's Endgame it seems like he didn't need the rituals because he was getting extra divine energy from Jas.
