How's it going, guys?

This is my intepretation of Tumeken's personality based on the information we already know.

----
• He was a dreamer, and tried to evade from his problems.

• He seems to be affliated with light/fire/the Sun as he is referred to as the God of the Sun, Lord of the Light. We also know that he released a massive fire blast that was said to have killed both sides of the Kharidian-Zarosian war which led to the retreat of the remaining Zarosians.

• We are going to assume that this blast did not kill him (otherwise Jagex would not have created so much hype about him). Icthlarin suggests he might be sleeping. Perhaps he might have been hibernating to recuperate from the war and his weakened power may have allowed him to remain unaffected by Guthix's edicts.

• According to Tumeken's dreams, he longed for companionship. This did not imply he lusted for women, rather he wanted to be with a partner. In fact, one could argue he was a romantic;

"And loved her in all her countenances, and she in his."

• It can be argued that Tumeken was good-natured because his people loved him.

• He has some level of self-awareness or self-reflection because he saw himself in the failings of his children and was affected by it.

(Analysis of Tumeken's dreams - an individual's dreams is an indicator of their subconscious state which contributes to personality)

• Tumeken can be perceived as compassionate, empathetic and generous because he pitied his people and shared water where he could, in his dreams on Day One.

• Tumeken believed in strength because he awarded a piece of himself to the man he encountered and deemed him 'the strongest of men' - thus, the creation of Het.

• Tumeken did not like conflict, because he was saddened when he witnessed his people arguing in his dreams.

[..continued..]

• Tumeken valued sociability, joy and happiness because he gave a piece of himself to a monkey that demonstrated those qualities - thus, the creation of Apmeken.

• Tumeken did not like wastefulness as his 'eyes opened' at the sight of Ullek people relishing in excess to celebrate the arrival of Tumeken. Tumeken awarded a crocodile a piece of himself because it was 'indeed, the most resourceful of all animals' - thus the creation of Crondis.

• On the Fourth Day of his Dreams, Tumeken seemed to be affected by the heat of the desert yet pushed through. This indicates a level of perseverance but it also implies that the God can be affected by weather. Whether this is because of his weakened state from the Zaros wars.. we don't know.

• Tumeken seemed to engage in self-reflection as he 'reflected forlornly' in a cave on the Fourth Day of his Dreams.

• I found it interesting that he decided to transform a beetle into a God after calling it 'the most unusual of creatures' and that he wanted this lesser God to be an example for those who stray too far into solitude (the creation of Scabaras). This implies that Tumeken values community and harmony.

---

All in all, his dreams seem to imply that Tumeken was a rather fatherly figure who cared for his people. Before the dream end and after the creation of Scabaras, he 'longed to be with his family'. In fact, one could argue that he was also humble because he discouraged overindulgence and he was said to acknowledge his faults.

But bear in mind that the accounts to Tumeken are limited so perhaps much of the mythology could be biased, but it does make for a wonderful tale. I felt like Tumeken's dreams were a parable of some sort.

I'd like to share a quote from a Menaphos slave the playerbase found associated with the in-game sundial teaser:

"[You want a] Revolution? Don't be so stupid. We are workers - we were born to it, and will die to it too. Daydreaming anything different is a waste of what little life we have."

To be clear, do we know if the workers and the slaves are the same?
