Since we know so little, these are my guesses/assumptions until we know more.

The themes that I believe are present around Tumeken are:

Family and the value therein.
(He and Elidinis are the only gods on Geilinor that we know of to create and invest time into children).

Striving for excellence.
Tumeken is described as an idealist, which would cause him to seek perfect actions from himself and others. It would lead him to perform great feats of aid while also unintentionally hurt or isolate those around him. Like the sun, Tumeken shines bright and accidentally burns those around him.

The importance of middle ground.
This one is a bit of a leap, but hear me out. The four aspects he created counterbalance one another. Het is strength, power, and pride incarnate while Crondis is modesty and cleverness. The other paring is Apmeken is social activity and light-hearted foolishness while Scabaras is isolation and wisdom. In their children, Icthlarin is the escort of the dead while Amascut was the escort of those set to be reborn. Tumeken is described as a dreamer and idealist who moves on from tasks that prove too difficult. I'd like to believe that Elidinis is a pragmatic goddess that does not know when to stop. It would also fit with his sun motif, as too much sunlight and no night would destroy life as well.

That made me laugh far more then it should have.

*ignores Saradomin's adopted Icyene daughter*

True, Saradomin's daughter exists, as does Armadyl's spouses and children, but no divine children to our knowledge. Also, we don't know when Saradomin gained his daughter or even if she is adopted. It seems like Armadyl was married while a god for his second marriage but the first is more vague. We do know that none of their children are divine (I realize that Icthlarin and Amascut are classified as demigods, but that is still more divine than even the Mahjarrat).

Not even close. Saradomin, Zamorak, Guthix, and Armadyl have all had children.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

I would argue that Zamorak is the only one on this list that we know applies to your argument. As Khazard appears to have been born/created/whatever after Zammy and the Jets ascended; As for Aagi, she lived and died before Big Green's ("Naaaaaiiiiiil&quot ;) ascencion; Joaquin the Phoenix's children were both adopted; and we're not 100% sure about Sara-blueman-group's daughter.

Khazard is pretty old, and he just found out a few weeks ago that Zambam was his father. Tumeken seemed to put a higher level of importance on family values.

As much as I like your creative names for the gods, I don't think it's just "they had kids" that was being meant in the original post bringing this up.

It certainly seems as if creating children who were ''descended'' from them in some way was a major component of what T+E felt they needed to be a family. But the matter of raising them is also a crucial part of that.

A lot of the other gods have a similar deal, though often either in the sense of ''direct descendant(s)'' or ''raising a child/children'' rather than both:

Armadyl had Ra'arth and Tepras -- adopted children rather than descendants, but still children that he raised and still absolutely family to him.

Guthix had Aagi, of course -- both his own descendant and someone he cared for himself. This was pre-godhood, though, after which it seems as if there was no one else who filled the role of a child for him.

Saradomin ... he had a family pre-godhood; now he has Adrasteia, and while he certainly considers her to be a daughter in some way, who knows how they're really related?

Zamorak had a child who was directly descended from him, but did none of the raising himself -- pretty much just handed over his parental duties to Hazeel while he fought the God Wars. While he has been shown as a father figure to Moia, she's not descended from him. So he's had both of these components, but with different people.

I'd also add Zaros -- an interesting case in that he did roughly the same as Tumeken and Elidinis did, infusing his essence into a separate being. He doesn't consider Nex his daughter, though, and she pretty much raised herself.

A better case for Zaros being associated with family would be his relationship with Seren and Mah. Nex has limited agency and is more like a dog than a daughter.

I imagine everyone but seren is 'like a dog' to big z (obviously zimzams is little z)

Forgive me for believing my intent was transparent. The initial thread was discussing Tumeken's Beliefs, and the point that was being closely observed at the time of my post (which I quoted) was in response to the discussion as to how T.K. and the Sunshine Band's family values compared to the other gods. Basically, it was a response to "No, they all had kids, so they must all care about family (paraphrase)". My point was to show why just having some form of offspring did not give them the same familial beliefs.
