Where can I find this dialogue regarding Guthix's encounter with Xau Tak outside of the game? I havent gotten to that memory yet.

Original message details are unavailable.

Calamity! I underestimated the ability of the Blade. I have sundered a planet. It was a world of divine beauty and fabulous magic, a realm of wild nature where four ruling courts of the seasons were in constant conflict, yet maintained a tumultuous balance of power. Yet, at the core of this world of light, I witnessed a great darkness. A corrupt, ravenous presence; a bloated parasite that fed voraciously on the living, whose appetite could never be satisfied. Arrogantly, I sought to cut that devouring corruption from its host. Instead, I destroyed the planet, shattering its fragments across the cosmos. Worst of all, I fear my actions may have released corruption from its prison. Its tendrils entwine the threads of mortality. It has taken root in pathways I have opened. There are many places I now dare not travel, for fear that corruption may probe deeper into the cosmos, and find a new host. I have sought out the elements of the sundered world. Some of them endure. A land of perpetual light and one of eternal winter, and a periphery where neither can endure the other. But there are large fragments of Renmark I have been unable to locate. I can only hope that some of its inhabitants may have survived my hubris.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

A general question regarding Xau-Taks signature phrase:

"Do you really think you can save them,Player? You can't. There is something scary which does something scary. And this is Xau-Tak."

Who exactly are we meant to be saving? Is it a specific group, or just everything in general.
Do you really think something interesting will happen? It won't. There is a tedium of non-interaction that wears down your soul. And this is Xau-Tak

Assuming Xau-Tak is the corruption in the Guthixian Engram or the new host for the corruption, it is described as entwining itself with mortality. Acknowledging that, the 'we' Xau-Tak speaks of could literally be as broad as every single mortal in existence or as narrow as Xau-Tak itself/it's hosts.

And this hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet - has anyone thought of this being connected to Xau-Tak? An excerpt from one of the Memorial to Guthix engrams, but a part that I don't remember reading when I first read the engrams - perhaps you had to prestige the Memorial first. I've now finished the Memorial four times, and this part of the "Elder Sword" engram is new and interesting:

"Calamity! I underestimated the ability of the Blade. I have sundered a planet.

But this corruption, with tendrils entwining the threads of mortality, reminded me of Xau-Tak. The "tendrils" part reminds me of what V said, and obviously what with the threats from the afterlife, "mortality" brings Xau-Tak to mind. This corruption sounds like a parasite whose host is a world.

I know this theory has been thrown out before but what if the corruption is indeed the slayer skill? It came into being about the same time as the first Xau references, the slayer mask is of Xau as we know, and it is one of the more darker skills in game.
I have seen the dark universe yawning, where the black planets roll without aim;
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

How awesome would it be if it is the Elder Gods that need saving? If Xau is draining the Anima Mundi from worlds, that means he is indirectly responsible for all of their deaths. But really, do we want to save them at this point? They're kinda indifferent about whether we live or die. Shouldn't we be the same towards them? It would be interesting if another elder or two died in the Elder god pillar and a way to prove ourselves to Jas would be to stop Xau.

I think I will scour the fairy tale series and see if I can find any hidden gems about Xau as it relates to Zanaris. It is the nexus after all... I have seen the dark universe yawning, where the black planets roll without aim;
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

As of right now, Wen is most likely responsible for the deaths of the other elder gods given her strongly implied involvement in Mah's corruption (the icy blue crystals on Mah's core). And other than an association with corpses (for different reasons) there is nothing linking the two or suggesting a link.

That is to assume that it is Wen that corrupted Mah. And signs point to that being the case. A theory you could make then is that Xau controls Wen. Here is supporting evidence and a case to be made for it. In this theory we assume a few things. 1. Wen is in fact, in two pieces. 2. V never met Xau-tak, only visited worlds already destroyed. 3. Xau is the parasitic organism described in the elder blade echo. 4. Wen had no part in Gielinor's creation.

So we see in the fairy echo, Gods can be controlled by parasites. As guthix, a tier 2 god is controlled by a mortal parasite until he convinces it to willingly leave his brain. What if the anomaly, the corruption, Xau-tak came across Wen's unhatched egg and entered her brain, controlling her. Seeing Mah as a threat, Xau-Wen, eliminates her while Bik, Ful, and Jas are out creating the universe and Gielinor (we know Wen had no part in this). They return to find Wen missing and Mah in a stillborn state. They decide to rest on Gielinor. Guthix finds the the elder sword. He finds a world being leeched by Xau-Wen and attempts to destroy it. Xau-Wen is unharmed, the world is shattered. Only an Elder would not be killed by an artifact. Wen in an attempt to save her sisters, does the only thing she knows she can and splits in two, leaving herself and xau in a weakened state as they both crash onto Gielinor. Xau slowly gains strength and sees Guthix resting, the being that nearly killed him. Wen attempts to gather strength to warn her sisters of Xau. Xau begins to threaten the world guardian, the last remnant of Guthix's true strength.

Possible twist, the elder blade is what split xau-wen in two before it crash lands on RS.
