Guys you really need to watch anything involving Mod Raven. He addressed the Mod Wilson and Xau-Tak thing awhile ago. He said that he enjoyed working with Wilson and they discussed Xau-Tak at length. So even if Wilson is gone I think Xau is still coming and Raven will likely be giving it to us now. Which im super excited about. Plus Raven mentions Xau a lot if only in a few words per recording. I have seen the dark universe yawning, where the black planets roll without aim;
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

Well, obviously Deathbeard was resurrected by Xau-Tak's power, and what he says about the seas becoming "angrier" recently is interesting. You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

2. Xau-Tak isn't real , or at least not an actual GOD or entity, but rather possibly a disease, codename for something stranger, or a parasite(recurring theory around here).

Calling it now, it's a stand alone complex.

There is no actual Xau-Tak, and there never was. There was only the illusion or idea of something that resembled Xau-Tak; the idea took hold in the minds of certain people, and they built up and propagated this concept through words and actions until it spread far and wide enough to cause serious change. It's very similar to the parasite idea, only it's cerebral instead of biological.

The idea comes from Ghost in the Shell, in which stand alone complexes are greatly facilitated by cybernetics and the net. If such a thing were to happen in RuneScape, the facilitator could probably be magic.

it's a metaphysical being who exists in multiple levels of reality at once.
Thoughts?

I believe that's a contradiction of sorts lol, they are opposites don't you think. Metaphysical things do not exist in reality, that is why they are meta physical. (meaning above physics).

Things that exist in multiple realities exist have to exist in some reality, which means they can't be meta-physical because they are not above physics.

Just as a possible example, imagine if on some distant planet in the current cycle some poor farmer type stumbles across a fragmentary manuscript that tells the story of a dying man. It describes the guy as torn apart; guts are spilled everywhere, the entire scene bathed in blood. Truly horrific stuff. The story ends with the man's last delusional ramblings: "Zaw... tack."

The farmer, having no reason to take the story seriously, dismisses it; but he also mentions it in passing, repeating the story and its ending phrase to family, friends, etc. The idea spreads, and sticks in peoples' minds. Soon there are repeat incidents of people saying the phrase as they die. Then there are murders that attempt to match the descriptions of the original tale.

What started as curiosity turns to hysteria; some people start speculating that it is the influence of some dark god, Xau-Tak, who thirsts for blood. Now it's a religion, with its adherents committing shocking acts of cruelty and destruction. The civilization devolves into barbarism and eventually destroys itself, all at the behest of an imaginary god that started its life as gibberish from a dying man in a story.

For the record, I'm not seriously suggesting this as Jagex's plan for Xau-Tak; I'd doubt they'd do something this complicated. But it's fun to consider the possibilities. If they do something similar, it might be a variation on the idea that if enough people believe in a god, that god will become real.
