I remember thinking Sister Catherina (One Piercing Note) was pretty cute. Was upset she died and the proverbial "final girl" ended up being the old deaf one for some reason. What kind of horror movie does that anyway? A bad one.

And hey, we know from Monk's Friend that Saradominist clergy, unlike real-world Catholic ones, don't have to be celibate so her occupation wouldn't necessarily be an obstacle.

Saradominists also ordain women - We see female priests, like the ones in Burthorpe and the Emissary of Saradomin. This plus other things has gotten me to think half of us are getting the denomination wrong - The Church of Saradomin isn't Catholic. They're clearly the Episcopal Church.

Father Lawrence alone is all the proof we need. :P

...That being said, while *clergy* may be able to get married (see the BoL Saradomin priest) monks and nuns aren't clergy. Well, they *can* be clergy, but not by default. And I'm pretty sure a vow of chastity comes as part of the package for becoming one. Maybe that guy from Monk's Friend is a single father who took vows and became a monk after his wife died. Now he's celibate, but still has a kid to raise.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

Saradomin's been gone a long time and there are may different groups who 'worship' him in different ways. H.A.M. does it by trying to kill my goblin princess, Grufeld bach (or whoever starts that quest nowadays) does it by killing demons, and I'm fairly sure those abbey people do it by dying alone and unloved

the monk society from monk's friend is a different one than the cithared* abbey

but ofcourse, the fact that it's (probably) forbidden just makes it so much better. Just like Ic*thlarin and Amas-

The guy who starts the quest nowadays isn't a demon slayer - He's Gideon Bede, a humble monk who acts as librarian at the Edgeville Monastery, who's trying to track down a stolen book. He's a gentle soul, and actually doesn't seem to judge all Zamorakians by Denath's actions. This would also be why he actually needs your help at all.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

Also, I gotta say, and I realize this is probably several different kinds of heresy, but I was never really into the whole Zanik phenomenon. Don't get me wrong, she's certainly CUTE, and a good friend and well-written character, but I was prevented from finding her ATTRACTIVE by the hunchback, huge eyebrows, and general old, bad graphics. Her second design... yeah, no.

But her current one... now I get it, yeah. Anxiously awaiting a corresponding update for the other cave goblins, too.

Maybe I'm shallow but the fact that she's a different species makes any kind of romantic relationships super creepy imo.

I ship my character with Captain Tobias, Seaman Lorris, Seaman Thresnor, Captain Barnaby, the Trader Crewmembers, Bill Teach, Captain Bent**y, and the Sailor from Relleka. They do a good job getting me across the sea to islands I need to be.

Oh, you don't mean THAT kind of shipping? You mean the romantic kind? ;)

Well, I don't really see my character being romantically involved with anyone. Just friends is as far as it goes.
How DARE you not mention Ned!

I might've been guilty of shipping my character with Eluned in the past, now that I think of it: made not sacrificing her the way to go :v

Also, I'm shipping my character with Azzanadra in a strong, vitriolic bromance kind of way, if that counts for anything.
When in doubt, snark at Mahjarrat.

Its a mix of Zeus' sect and Catholicism/The Western Church. The Western Church was said to have been influenced by some "barbarian" practices while the Eastern Orthodox was closer the original. The Western Church did do some atrocities against the eastern church and was responsible partly for the death of the last remnants of the Roman Empire + Fall of Constantinople which held out for hundreds of years against attackers. Could it have been inspired by any of that?

well, define species. fairly sure I can have half-goblin babies with that :P (although also sure I dont want any)
Plus, pretty much any shippable character is a different sort than you, as in... not-human

the zanik thing for me is pretty much all her character, her... persoanlity, her friendship with the player, her defiance of a god back when gods meant something... and her gigantic eyes, ofcourse.
I wouldnt have said she looked especially pretty in her first form but in her third she does

There's really only one logical option for an npc to ship our character with. We first met this tall, dark stranger in a bar, cliched though that might sound (though he didn't look as dark at the time, it wasn't long before we saw him for who he was on the inside).

We crossed paths quite a few times after that, a path characterized with strong emotions on both sides. It was nevertheless a a long time before he made himself vulnerable to us, and we had our chance to act on everything we'd come to feel about him over the course of the quests he featured in.

As to his name, it is Vanstrom. Vanstrom Klause.
