It's a bit off topic from the thread, but respawning is mentioned several times actually.

1) Firstly, it is technically "mentioned" in lore in that you re spawn at deaths office. The first time you die, he explicitly mentions its not your time yet.
2) We die twice in Blood Runs Deep.
3) In The Fremmenik Trials, one way to win Thorvald's approval is by literally dying.
4) In Love Story, WOM mentions a "usual respawn point".
5) And the end of Rocking Out, there is a disclaimer that many guards respawned in Lumbridge.
6) Lola Wut in the Vengeance Saga asks to be killed so he can respawn.

Not saying it's serious lore or anything, but... *sips mint tea*

Oh, I'm well aware of all of the references to respawning, like Sir Tiffy's explanation of the Gaze of Saradomin or something to add to that list. I just choose not to consider them a part of the canon story, no matter how many Jmods say it's canon, or how many in-game instances try to explain the respawning feature. It's not out of spite or anything, it just ruins too many moments in quests for me. Path of Glouphrie being paramount in that respect, but not the only one, by far.

I do consider the Blood Runs Deep ones canon though.

I pray Amascut will forgive me for this necromancy.

Well, it is only two months old and was only buried eight pages deep.

Anyhow, any speculation on where Beneath Cursed Tides belongs? The only thing that places it on any sort of timeline is that the island sank while Vanna*a was training slayer with Duradel or perhaps a little after he became a slayer master. In any case, before the adventurer first meets Vanna*a (unless the player's account is old enough)

Since the Wizard's Tower is involved in the underwater breathing spell, perhaps somewhere around the same time as Imp Catcher ?

Yeah that seems to place it in the Sixth Age.. and "still" implies it's been quite some time since 169.. is it canon that all 5th Age quests happen in 169? I appreciate we're coming up to three years IRL since Guthix's death, but the island sank (or at least was taken of the world map) sometime before the Ariane quests in 2012. Tutorial Island however hasn't been used since like 2009, so it's about 6 years since the calender would have been changed? Assuming time has progressed linearly and parallel to real life time, since the island sank.

Hmm, I guess that conclusively brings it into the 6th age. I always figured the island that's mentioned to be seen sinking under the ocean from one of the ports updates was meant to reference Tutorial Island being removed from the map.

@Heidly

Yeah, all in 169, it was a busy year.
