Interestingly I think it could be very, very early in the 5th age personally. It has no 6th age indications, and as for the vintage, well, I'd consider year 7 of the 5th age to be 'old' in year 169.
But in any case it has a pig in it tied up to be eaten, so I'm obliged to put it before Bringing Home the Bacon (and bt*b being a lot earlier than it is currently in the timeline).
So long as it's after the Digsite quest it'd meet the player-knowledge requirement of the quest order. While we know him as a Cthonian based on description from information from Mahjarrat Memories, the word Cthonian is never actually mentioned, just demon. Likewise it's possible to meet other Cthonian demons well before Mahjarrat Memories (Abyssal creatures and demons, Ne**rayels, Blood Reavers, Bloodveld, and Penance creatures for example)

Heart of Stone.. regardless of our thoughts on the quest, it did happen. Presumably pre-Fate of the Gods, due to our lack of knowledge of the Elders (just TELL Xenia and Ariane about the Great Revision!)
I want to put it after One of a Kind and before or perhaps during Mahjarrat Memories.. would make sense to also occur after Bandos' death as well, though before The Mighty Fall
Yeah I agree, I was originally thinking after Fate of the Gods due to the option of knowing the elders are here and Xenia seeing Freneskae, but both of those are possible to be explained even with having it prior to Fate of the Gods. That alone just makes it possible though, but the real reason I think it would be before Fate of the Gods is as well because of the lack of "Hey Xenia, Zaros has a plan..." dialogue. Furthermore, the information revealed in HoS is actually sort of an abridged version of the information in Fate of the Gods, so it'd be better to have it before so that the information isn't redundant as it would be if it were after Fate of the Gods.
I see it as, Post-MPD, and Pre-Fot* at the minimum, but after Mahjarrat Memories but still before Fot* sounds better due to the vague mentions of Mah in them before it was (in-game stated anyway) that Mah is an elder god.

To be fair, I'm not sure Zaros would be very happy with us telling a wizard and a mad adventurer that he's alive. It seems to me that the adventurer would be witholding this information because it would be too risky for others to know about it.

I forgot about the Mah references in MM. I agree HoS should be after this now.
Let's hope they actually put the post-FOT* content in at some point for this quest... get what we voted for
I'm just a man; I'm not a hero.
Just a boy who had to sing this song.
Aye, hopefully it doesn't become a Bot* PQD situation again.

Well, with the PQD out now it seems solid that HOS takes place after FOT*, if we had access to the transcript of the FOT* reference in the quest if done before HOS that was added alongside it, it'd be even more-so sure of, but, well we'll get that soon enough.

Do you consider all quests released after TWW to be 6th-age, or do you mean only ones that have explicitly 6th-age references?
Either way, it's not a rule I'd like to commit to for the sake of simplicity, but it is the general acceptance unless something arises to give worth to the idea that it might fit better elsewhere, on a quest-by-quest basis of course.
