V participated in the God Wars and left Gielinor voluntarily when the Edicts were put up. This would place him firmly in the 3rd age. However, the Fremmy's equally say that V had stayed with them for ages before leaving at the end of the 3rd age.

So, in all honesty, V's encounter with the stone could have taken place anywhere between the 2nd and 3rd ages (but most likely in the 2nd due to who had the stone during the 3rd and the large amount of fighting over it).

Yeah I think shattering it offers the most potential moving forwards. It really makes the dragon kin intriguing because now this stone is everywhere and tons of people are false users. The curse would kick into overdrive. I shudder to think what they would do about that.

I don't disagree that everybody getting a "piece of the Jas pie" would throw the Dragonkin into extreme... Something. I wouldn't say overdrive, I would more so say overload.

I'm thinking that if this happens, it will overload the curse so much that it will either kill them (not likely, considering they are a big upcoming part of the 6th age), or it will weaken (if not cut) their bonds to the stone.

If they were cut loose from the stone, it would be interesting to see how everybody would react. Would they continue searching out false users? Would they go after somebody else? Maybe hunt down the Elders who cursed them in the first place? Or would they just say "to hell with it" and leave?

Interesting theory, there. And yes, if they wanted to end the storyline involving the Stone of Jas as we know it, they'd have to do something drastic to it.

I can see Sliske wanting to shake things up and not wanting history to repeat itself. That would give him a motive to shatter the Stone of Jas. Sliske is basically the one who does crazy things and then watches and sees how everyone reacts to it.
