I don't remember anyone saying that; as I recall, Azzanadra mentioned not being able to sense a ceiling to his power. That would just mean that they've become so powerful that they're no longer aware of their limitations.
I see it more as them no longer having limitations, same as some other mortal races, like the Cthonians. It's not godhood, but wasn't the point of Zamorak ascending to move past his limitations? Races without limitations can achieve Godlike power as seen with Hostilius.
The question is how they move up. They were always capable of training and better their combat prowess, but this seems to signify they can increase their magical ability. Is this done through trainining? Or do they simply need to find means of absorbing more power? Is Zamorak and Bilrach going to host a portal buffet for the other Mahjarrat and just abuse the hell out of this OP hax now that they don't have limits? Who knows, but I think it'd be interesting to reintroduce the Mahjarrat as new players with the ability to work past our WG abilities and show our full potential on our own merits.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.
Technically we could still be resistant (probably not to the extent as we are to a gods magic) to Mahjarrat magics.
The blessing that Guthix gave us was meant to give us resistance to divine energy.
Divine energy is what the gods used to become "gods." Drawn from the powers of the Elder Artifacts into themselves to ascend past the limitations of their own races and become "immortal" in the sense of no natural causes, starvation, dehydration, etc.
Divine energy is what comes from the Elder Gods, it's what Zaros and Seren are made out of. Which means it's also what the Mahjarrat are made out of..
Mahjarrat magic could still be considered at least partially divine energy. Which means we probably have partial resistance to Mahjarrat magic.

Did anyone else think it was messed up that Wen corrupted Mah who was basically a little kid trapped inside an Elder God's body?
Not to be that person, but where was this mentioned?
When you complete all the nightmare puzzles, Seren mentions the cold frost taking over Mah's core, and people have since ascribed it to be Wen.

Is there a topic about this? I'd like to see why people speculate it to be Wen.
