Wording could probably be better. I was going more for conservatism vs. liberalism since liberals are the SJW's and I am a liberal.
Conservatism vs. liberalism is a much broader conflict that has little to do with snowflakes/SJWs, though. And either way both words are overused to the point of needing to be defined every time they're used seriously.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

"SJW" might as well mean "thing/person I dislike" at this point. "Stop eating to full, you SJWer!" "Bankstanding is such an XP-SJW."

It was a stupid insult anyways. If the person it's aimed at really does believe they're fighting for social justice, how is calling them a warrior for that cause negative? It only works among people who accept the negative connotation. Maybe it was a tool to make the left seem more threatening to moderates?

Can we go back to "noob?" I liked "noob."

On Topic: We're in the vast minority, but so long as someone at Jagex really cares about being able to tell a story with the game, we'll keep getting quests.

I just wish they did an extra draft and more checking for plot holes...

No, I'm Spartacus! Actually, no.. scratch that...

...Uh ...In any case, the only reason I still play this game is because the quests are leagues and bounds ahead of most other MMO's and even if I have no quests to do, there's always denial hope and reading through the lore sub-forum now and then.

Oh boy, another political conversation in the lorums. Why am I not surprised??

Anyway, I would not be here if not for the lore. It saddens me how many updates are geared towards high-level PVM and Slayer. It seems like every other aspect of the game revolves around this one. They even put lore as monster drops from time to time, which is not a good thing as far as I am concerned...

While there's a disappointing number of spacebar-spammers who hate questing (yet they find clicking the same tree for hours exhilerating? I don't understand it) we wouldn't have a lore forum if there weren't some people who cared. There's generally a jump in traffic whenever we have a particularly juicy quest or event. It's why I made the thread in my sig after all. Those people are all lore fans.

What's really fun is when we get into pseudo-religious arguments defending fictional characters. Saradomin did nothing wrong!

I think it mostly happens because nearly every questline they've done has been spread out over many years (the void series being the main exception). It's hard to keep everything straight when the writer who did the last quest isn't even working there anymore.

The only reason I continue to play is because of quests. I could careless about anything else other than the friends I made. But only one of my friends is enough to keep me playing over lore. So when we go through a dry spell of quests or loreless pieces of new content, I disappear from the game for a while. Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.

The lore community could be seen as an elite, albeit small group in the game, where people have a much deeper knowledge of the world around them, be it NPCs, certain artefacts or places. It gives a great sense of achievement, knowing you've dug through all the literature and dialogues you could possibly find, to get all the answers you've been looking for.

It might not interest most people for whatever reasons, but that doesn't make it any less interesting for us, even though the number of new quest releases have been mild.

There's always old lore to ponder on, or even new stories to look forward to, so let's keep enriching ourselves, without being bothered with being a minority.

You could call it fate - I call it our very nature and duty - to be looking for the answers to this never-ending pool of questions, developing new concepts if you will, constantly rewiring our individual and social consciousness by continuously elaborating into the absolutely new, creating phase changes in our ever-changing perspectives of the environment, and to be finally sharing our knowledge with the rest.

I do wonder occasionally how many players care about lore but aren't part of any lore community (ie. people like Rainy).

*Raises hand*

As a MQC owner with most requirements done even before said cape was released, I do see myself as a lore hunter, trying to uncover all the hidden pieces of lore in game (the Deamonheim notes 16-20 seem too rng dependent though).
It is the lore given during a quest that can make or break the it for me. For instance Kindred Spirits , while generally well-received, was a quest I truly disliked due to the many plotholes and deus ex machinas.

Meanwhile I barely have anyone in game with which I discuss lore: many members of my clan in fact hate questing and most of my friends mainly focus on maxing (for reasons unknown to me). I remember cheering when I got the wedding ring (before the MQC was released) while my clan members did not see any use in it, being confused as to why I was so happy. I also remember the scarring of missing a Misc. 16-20 Dungeoneering Note due to my team ending too soon (which is a wound still fresh), yet my clan not being able to relate to this at all (which led to quite the uncomfortable situation to say the least).
In that regard I do get the feeling that Lore enthusiasts are a minority. Then again it might just be that many (just like me) rarely discuss lore openly, rather keeping this hunt for knowledge to themselves.

Quests are the only incentive for me to buy membership. I love quests and I love lore! I lurk the wiki every day to read all about Dragonkin and the gods.
Remove TH, and put stuff from TH to Solomon's store as guarantees. No disappointment to the average player who only uses free keys which yield trash, and those who do buy into MTX can have a clear idea what the thing they want is going to cost them.
