I'm sorry but I can't support this. I love lighting my friends burners as its a way for me to help them help other people in the bigger grand scheme of things. I can't tell you how many amazing conversations I've had with my friends who host and the people they are hosting for while keeping the burners lit.

How about alts and friends can only light up to 500 times? Then its fair for everyone? Bots lose, I win you win, everyone wins? If not I would like to know why?

You cannot love lighting his burners 24/7, unless hes paying you good, I personally feel like if a host is going to open their house then they should be the one lighting..

Theres proof on the "bots" and the code so, I think this is a fair compromise, then the lighting can be used in emergancys right?

Sometimes I mess the posts up because I am not mentioning the user, so those posts are bumps. Took the red pill and the blue pill, spit 'em both in the garbage!, Being woke used to mean you understood you're a target! And now it's having two good legs and never taking a step forward!

I do not want to turn this into a spam post, so I am going to leave it at this last comment, it would make no diffrence personally on how many times you could burn a day.. 500 would be plently enough..

Each burner lasts about 3 minutes x 500 thats 1500 minutes which = 25 Hours so pretty much its all ready a whole day, more than a day, So would not make any diffrence we might honestly need to go lower yikes..

Probably about 75 times, so 3 x 75 thats 225 which = 4.25 hours thats plently enough, thats like 4 hours in a day..but if that does not change your mind, its all good.

That's the difficulty of the current state of player owned houses- players who abuse the current system have an effect on everyone. For example, if bots charge air orbs and there are players who enjoy making orbs and ultimately air battlestaffs, then Jagex adjusts the specific content to where we can no longer craft air orbs- the legitimate players cannot enjoy said crafting content anymore (just a hypothetical).

It's definitely a tough situation to untangle, ultimately not everyone may be pleased with all ideas- thus it is important to find a fair middle ground where all players can enjoy the game.

Thank you for your response, I'd love to hear if you have any ideas to contribute or your thoughts on the other ideas presented above.

I oppose this. Me and my friends host from time to time and enjoy lighting each other’s burners. Sure it may be work, but the ability to guest in and interact with all of another’s house is personable and fosters relationship building. Taking that away destroys that relationship.

That may be, although I'd like to think that revisiting and updating content would bring everyone together as it would certainly make it more fair for all who enjoy construction and opening their home. What do you think of the other suggestions put forth?

Agreed. We should not be punishing players for having friends light burners, as they have always been able to. Making a maxed POH available to the public is providing a valuable service to the community and should be encouraged, not limited.

See I’m not opposed to this idea, but as a long time host myself, I have seen the rise of so many great memories. I personally helped my friend get 99 prayer on his own altar. This is not possible without other people lighting it. Perhaps a better solution forward id to remove the POH competition all together? Just make it so that jagex has their own POH that everyone can use. This would destroy all the bots like you want and remove the toxic behavior associate with the POH community if that if that is what you’re concerned about

Further, the removal of the board could have merit but would ultimately have to be replaced with something as it could make it difficult for players who need an open PoH to know who they can join. Thus, perhaps improving upon the current system would be better than remaking the wheel, if that makes sense.[/quote]

I agree, however if they can't make a system that shows how long they've been hosting past the forced 6 hour log, then it would just be somewhat pointless.

Also the only reason i say remove the board is because jagex needs a way to let the players decide whos house to go into, not just clicking the top name on someone.

Yes, they do have the option to still do so, but it seems kinda forced to the top.

as for the tip jar, I haven't noticed much of a difference before or after. But making burners host only would force host to be in the house rather than afk at the GE or elsewhere --

to add on top of this I only have this view because when I host sporadically, I normally do drop parties with most if not all the tip jar, but that's also my personal choice which could just skew my point of view on things.

Most of the time if someone donates to me it's in the form of trout or marrentils (which yes i could sell, but i collect these) Via trade, mostly friends i've made along the way. There's one person i met that makes me Chili con Carne to collect and it's the coolest thing ever.. especially since they have to hand make it.

i like to light on an alt which a friend lets me use while i help others with the ToB quests sometimes but I don't mind not being able to do that.

also sorry @rabbitmeds i couldn't quote you my phone is being sketchy.
