If you want summoning and pets and more complex interface systems, go play an MMO with an ethos that supports those things like WoW or RS3. The reason I came back here 14 years later as an adult is because OSRS offers something unique not found in any other MMO I've played, and I think the devs should focus on cultivating and preserving that feeling as opposed to reintroducing things that are already being done elsewhere. (and apparently even fans of the mechanism like yourself don't like its current incarnation on RS3; yeesh, why would they waste their time again here?)

The game has already gone beyond what you enjoy about it and does not offer that simplicity anymore.

Much of the new content being designed around prayer flicking is one such example of this.

Summoning was great in its initial incarnation, like many things in RS3, it became ruined over time. I want the good version of it back.

There is NO redeeming factor of summoning, i don't want it period. OSRS is fine without your shitty summoning. You may like grinding uselessly but the rest of us actually want our max capes and PVP without familiars. Everything about summoning sucked and catered only to the sweaty nerds who wouldn't stop playing RS in 2008 even after the removal of free trade.

1. 2007 was a nice border.
2. Agreed. I think osrs isn’t completely 07 anymore, but that’s no reason to further banish 07 features.
3. Beside player votes, I think Jagex has it’s role in the 07 thinking as well. I think they shouldn’t agree with summoning in the first place.
4. I disagree. I think the three failed skills are each way better than the summoning we know.

Conclusion: big no -support.

(I saw this thread was up again, due the fact this thread is from 2016, maybe stop bumping it?)

@Ninjatt good news for you a summoning update just dropped today! Now you can use necromancy spells to reanimate the dead or other creatures to help you in battle! Now you can stop bumping this thread, no one actually wanted summoning anyway! Go play RS3!
