amazing work you've put into this. not so fond of adding even more melee weapons into runescape with it, but the bow-sword sounds awesome and it could be the balancing point ranged combat has been needing! cannons, fire arrows, bow-swords. finally a skill that rangers would have the advantage in! I love so much of this, I would start programming it myself if I could!
Thank you very much for the support!
I can completely see where you're getting at in terms of adding more to melee. Perhaps the tridents could go as a new magic weapon instead. But in any case, I thought melee should at least get something since this design is attempting to cater to as close to everyone as possible. And well, cutlasses seems kind of an obvious choice when it comes to a sea based weapon. It would seem a bit odd to not have them

Perhaps Firemaking can aid Sailing too. Like it could operate better engines for the boat.
Your boat travel faster and negate certain dangerous events like hurricanes or whirlpools
Thanks for your support.
I did try to add a little bit of firemaking use into it, with the fire arrows and greek fire sort of thing.
That being aid, there could easily be more. Perhaps the time it takes to light the engines on engine boats is affected by firemaking level - like construction and crafting are used with making boat repairs. And then some dangers, like perhaps the rogue wave in the tirranwn sea could put out the engine so higher firemaking would be needed so you're not completely stuck for too long.
Or, you could need a firemaking requirement to operate each of the cannons. 90 firemaking to use the rune cannon and fire all those rune cannonballs perhaps!

can we just add Sailing with the continents update? seriously everyone on rs supports sailing ever since the April fools. who doesn't want to own a boat?

It would certainly make sense. In fact it makes so much sense it seems downright illogical to do otherwise! We already know that the new continent would have a large port city, would be accessed via boat, and I think I remember them even saying that a lot of the content from the port city would be based on the sea! It's as though the game is crying out for sailing. And that's not to mention the hefty amount of player support there is.
