A new skill is something that pretty much everyone can enjoy, or ignore if they so choose. No matter the skill, it would bring back players who got bored, and bring in new ones. It just so happens that Sailing is a skill that is really popular all around! OSRS has more daily players than RS3 now so if there truly is a problem with workload where they cant handle a project this size than they need to fix that. I read through most of OP's idea and it sounds like a whole lot of fun. Stuff like raids and OSRS mobile breath new life into the game. Adding Sailing would work in the same way. JAGEX START THE POLL!

I made a very similar argument on a different account back in the 2010 era of Runescape, when the idea of sailing popped into everyone's heads. I'm certain dozens if not hundreds of others did the same.

As such, I love the idea. Lets do this
