You can always play like it's 2006 haha!

I also love the nostalgia but i think it's something we can still do in the game now, Ie if you want to kill King Black Dragon with a dragon longsword there is nobody stopping you :D

Exactly.

If you dont want to partake in any updates, then dont.

Just play your acc like how ppl dont use ge or gridlock their accounts.

Thus this is already possible yet for some reason and like always, ppl wont accept it unless its made by jagex.

People "wont accept it unless its made by jagex"?

I suppose that's true... for example: ppl wont accept vanilla servers "unless its made by jagex".

Just play the iteration of old school that you like and don't "partake in any updates" that you don't want to... including vanilla servers.

Ofc, if they do follow through with "official private servers" you won't get the choice of logging in to those worlds or not... they'll be... private.

Suuuure...as if there is any way possible to trade without going through the GE...or competing for skilling spots with those who DO use the updates...or any other of the myriad ways in which your suggestion is farcical.

Point is, it would be minimal mod interaction necessary, as it would only require botmods, which are mainly bots themselves these days.

The ONLY reason you continue to naysay the suggestion (as always) is because you hate for others to have fun in any way other than how YOU want them to. Some things never change...but the only place I prefer that is on a VANILLA SERVER, tyvm.

Doesnt matter, its clear that jagex cant uphold more than 3 versions so until they can, its quite clear this'll never happen.

Yet why do we need a version of the game for every year/way ppl want to play it as?

Before too long with this logic, there'll be 20-30 different variants as if this can happen, then why cant a version w/o say corp but everything else?

So there'll come a time when ppl need to learn that they cant always have everything their way as you need to think of this from a businesses prospective.

Will this actually make jagex money in the long run?

I dont really think so. Short term yes, but not overall.

It seems to only be "clear" to you.

Other people see it as a very real possibility.

Perhaps you recall the 'do not suggest' list in the early days of osrs? No? Well hell, let me remind you!

Was a forum mod created a list of things to NOT suggest.. it INCLUDED the grand exchange... maybe even GWD. hehehe

But then.. something musta changed.. cause low and behold... there it is!

Now, there WAS a time (recent memory even) where jagex didn't allow talk of "vanilla servers". Well, that was then and this is now hun.. and now... yeah, now even jagex IS talking about vanilla..

You might should consider finding a different topic to argue given that jagex is no longer opposed to vanilla. =)

And right there you just killed any and all arguements you could have ever had against vanilla servers/worlds.

They will make money from it.

'Nuff said.
