Level Absorbing: From RS3 to OSRS (OSRS gains levels as RS3 loses them)
tl;dr:
OSRS character gains bonus experience to catch up to RS3 character levels. The catch: RS3 character loses levels/exp as OSRS character gains them. (Characters must be on the same account@)
Example:
OSRS character receives triple experience for skills if that skill is lower than the RS3 character. The RS3 character would lose equal levels or some set of experience to compensate. (Both characters must be on the same account!)
Requirements:
1.) Both characters must be on the same RuneScape login to prevent real-world trading.
2.) OSRS skill must be lower than RS3 skill.
3.) The account must be a paid members account in order to level absorb.
Why Should Jagex Do This?:
1.) Old School players can indirectly "get" their accounts back. They'd still have to work to earn it, but it's a great incentive to Old School players. Instead of OSRS players complaining about "back in the good 'ol days," why not give us a chance to reclaim those good 'ol days now?
2.) More paid subscribers. This is a business model at the end of the day, how complicated can this concept be to enact in exchange for more regular subscribers.
How to appeal to OSRS players who have "already leveled?: It can't be fair to everyone, that much is obvious. Offer the same incentive to "already leveled" characters/accounts, and perhaps some separate experience boosts that are separate from Level Absorbing.
People have grown impatient since the good 'ol days of pre 07 Scape. Now is probably a good time to sell to this crowd that has changed since then. Thank you for reading this, I hope it can gain some
