So, let's be honest.. f2p pvp has been declining for a while.. and it needs something new to spice it up again. I strongly believe free-to-play needs some attention.. without it, i feel the pvp scene in f2p will be non-existent sooner than later..

Two things I feel could accomplish this would be;

a) Adding a new best in slot KO weapon
I'll admit, i haven't been following many news posts or streams in regards to this.. but i do remember hearing there was talk of bringing back corrupt weapons. I have very fond memories using corrupt back in the day. Not too sure on the reason why it was removed from the game. But i feel corrupt (or some other bis weapon) would bring back positive engagement to the f2p pvp scene, which in turn will bring more players into the p2p side of the game.

b) Making a USA (577) f2p pvp world permanent
For me, and i know many others who live in north america.. decline our play-time from often, to very little..if at all.. while it's on the UK pvp world rota. It's simply not fun to try pking when you have 1.5-2 tick delay to eat a swordfish. I think this would also positively impact engagement. Not only in f2p, but p2p as well.

I hadn't planned on making any sort of post, so forgive me if this sounds unplanned/thrown together.. it's just something i thought i needed to say..

Anyone agree? Thoughts? The best worst f2p pker

I think more attention needs to be given to F2P 'in general' to get people through the door (which later leads to membership), which then leads to more content / support for all.

Before I became a member (many moons ago) the Wilderness was the only thing that would motivate my mates to hop on Runescape together. It was a guaranteed laugh, we'd always end up losing someone, and then it'd be a mission to 'save' them, lol. It's stuff like this that get people talking about RS in IRL. Word of mouth marketing and all that good stuff.

I understand they don't want to give F2P too much, as to keep membership more enticing, but 'horse before the cart' comes to mind, and yes it seems F2P is in a bit of a decline.

I'd personally like to see a 'minigame' within the Wilderness that lets you kit out your player any way you like, at no cost, but you have limited points to spend. For example, if you wanted to play as a glass-cannon or tanky healer, etc. You'd put all your points into either, you couldn't do both (like we have with everybody being 99 in all stats). There's gotta be a luck element too, imo, random power-ups that spawn or areas that give a defensive bonus etc.

There's a lot they could do to make it more fun I think. Maybe instances are the way to go? Add elements from other mini-games (smoke cloud from stealing creation, capture the flag from castle wars, specific roles from barbarian assault, etc). That's what I'd like, personally. Bob says:

@SLR I like those ideas.. and i do agree, F2P does just need more attention in general. Hopefully someone in the Jagex team is thinking of something, and implements it soon.. f2p is the only thing that has brought me back to this game time and time again. Without it, i might actually have a life. >.<
