I myself was just scammed about 40m in osrs.

The scam was too drop your items and quickly trade a dude for 25m, when you trade him, he declines and puts a barricade of some sort up around your items and then you cant get too them without a pickaxe. this was done in the elemental are for the Elemental Shield quests.

Other people showed me a video on YouTube showing how too beat the scam and get 25m from the guy but that was not the case at all.

PLEASE BE WARY OF THIS AND DON'T DO WHAT I DID!

Never trade in PVP worlds! Someone just tried to scam/lure me in PVP world lumbridge castle bank. This scam involves 2 scammers. Scammer #1 (usually a level 3 throwaway account) will trade you in lumbridge bank and offer some expensive items (Ranger boots, toxic blowpipe, rangers tunic, etc) and will offer to sell for a ridiculously low price (Everything he traded me was worth about 40m and offered to sell for 27m) Feeling compelled and shocked by the low price, I immediately withdrew 27m, but when you trade I traded him a second time he suddenly took 2 steps out of lumbridge bank. IT IS A PVP ZONE IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE THE BANK When I stepped out of the bank to trade him Scammer #2 goes from 2nd floor (where you can't see him) to 3rd floor and casts bind so you can't retreat back to the bank and proceeds to kill you. Luckily I had sharks in my inventory and I was able to survive! Please be weary of this scam! Never trade in PVP worlds!!

Hey, was scammed on a pvp world, i know its sorta my fault, but here it goes.
Was on my way to top of lumbridge to use bank before switching worlds (25) and this guy trades me as im going into bank. I noticed how the skull outside the bank in the upstairs castle was still pvp but i was sure i wouldn't leave bank. Well, the guy offers to sell a fury for not too much less than what they cost. Somehow, by using the trades, he had my character position himself outside the bank, as the trade window was up so i couldn't really see that my character had moved. Within seconds a friend of his WS into the world, and kills me. I told him that i had reported him, and he said, "GL, i've been here for a year!" It just adds to the list of people going to rot in the ground sooner, but hey they had fun.

]Hello there !

I went for a visit in the free to play worlds and noticed there was a lot of those ``Money doublers``.
I was just wondering : If someone pretends to be doubling money, is he eligible to a report of scamming? I heard a mod confirmed it on the forums but I couldn't find the thread.

Thanks.:
P :)

Doubling money is definitely against the rules and can be reported under 'Item Scamming'.

Even if they are pretending they are eligible for a report, yes. There's no way for anyone to know if they're pretending or joking. It's not something to joke about really. It's like going up to somebody in real life and saying "I'm going to rob you". Sure you may just be kidding around but the person you said it to and others nearby won't know that and may very well call the police.

I have a question. I don't know if it's a scam, but I keep on getting random codes from random people. Most of them have appeared to be identical, starting with "Eadman", than being mixed together with letters, symbols, and numbers. Does anybody know if I'll be like in serious danger of losing my account or anything like that? I've tried reporting the people who do it, but it's almost like once everytime I'm signed in, so it's more like a group of people who are doing it. Nothing has happened so far, and they've been doing it for almost over a month, but just figured I'd ask, maybe if anybody knew who these guys are. :3
