A scam I came across today after that I didn't see written in one of the main posts that people should look out for. In W1 people are often advertising selling lots of the cheaper runes for a large price and then have a breakdown price in brackets that isn't actually correct. When you put in the amount of cash for how many runes you want they put in less than you are paying for.

example:

Selling 100k mind runes 4.2m (4.2ea). You put in 42k in order to buy 10k at 4.2 ea and they only put in 1k (which would be 42ea).

Scams are so well known that people are making anti-anti-scams.

A couple of scammers tried to get me.

The one comes up in the G.E. and shows me 100M. Then asks if I want it. Well yes I want it. He tells me to bank everything and then meet him in Fally. Makes himself seem like he's busy and going afk a lot, even "lags" out for me. Then takes me into the gamers grotto and goes into the red portal for clan wars.

Now then his "buddy" is at the bank chest there and starts telling me about how anti-scam him. Gives me tele grab runes and jumps into the white portal to "show" me how to do this.

At that point I left because I knew it was a scam. Yeah he's going to show me how to anti-scam and then his friend is going to anti-anti scam me somehow. Don't know how cause I left. But just be wary.

D Bone Scammer

There is a D Bone scammer and I could name names and have reported him.

He switches to big bones instead of the D bones you are paying him for.

Please Beware. He got my cash. and i got big bones instead of D Bones.

I can't believe what a terrible job jagex has done with handling scamming over the years. A simple solution would just be to force a third trade screen alerting the player that they are trading way out of proportion using a price checker system. Or just make it impossible to trade for more than say 10% out of price range unless you have been friends with the user for 48 hours to allow gifts. Why do we pay 8 dollars per month to have a bot/scammer ridden community???
