As long as SGS only does cosmetics, I have no qualms. Premium pets and bank spaces are really cutting it fine, much like how a child can push the limit before getting into big trouble.

It must also in no way affect the frequency or quality of the main updates too. And on a personal note, I'd like to see new content on SGS less frequently. It can detract from the main update.

When you said this:

-Since Insight Venture [Partners holds above 50% of the share of Jagex, most of the money goes to them.
-The money Jagex makes from the store will just be used to develop new items for the store:

I did chuckle a little. If they own 50% of the shares, how can they claim "most" of the money...

They own slightly above 50%, and there are more than two shareholders in the company. Supposing that the Raine Group owns even 1% of the share, no other investor could possibly match the 50% and that would put the [IVP the majority shareholder.

1) Probably because we are fine with it. Do you even realize how many mmos have cosmetic micros? Unless of course the very aspect of Jagex making money disgusts you.

2) Uh yeah there's nothing wrong with rwt when it's done right, which is exactly what Solomon's does. Just because it has the RWT label on it doesn't mean it's a game destroyer.

3) 'It DOES give an ingame advantage to those that care about looks.'
My god why am I taking this thread seriously... do you even realize what you just said?

4) That argument is plausible with SoF, not SGS. You're grasping at straws.

5) Let's pretend you're actually right, so a company's investors is detrimental to the organization that accepted the investment?

6) To put it nicely how do you even remember how to breathe OP?

7) Baa.

You can not Real World Trade their product. Yes back when the game was indie, the rules of the game were set by Andrew for that era of Runescape and were perfect for that time and age. However, time does change rapidly with Technology and it's games.

Andrew left the game to others to run it. The game needs money to survive. If you look deeper into how things are done, (Just going to JagexCareers' website and look and that alone is a wake up call.) and do some research you'll see that Jagex is doing what is best for the players even if the players may not agree with what Jagex does.

This game has lasted a rather long time, and despite what you think, and although it has changed drastically, it still holds some core elements that keep it alive that are actually based off of Andrew Gower's very own idea. "Runescape needs money to survive." Ads -> Membership + Ads -> Mems + Ads + Jagex "RWT" aka IGP.

WOW was members only, now it's free til 20. People think WOW is dying. RIFT is now completely FREE and last time I saw a game go free, it died..

I have never seen games last as long as Runescape. I was not expecting Runescape to last this long.. but it has! Be grateful. You have somewhere to log into and talk about whatever you wish. "You don't know what you have until it's gone."

You may have an answer to any argument I may create with your long list on the main page, but you're missing the mark entirely despite if you think you're not.

If Jagex was truly making bad business choices, then they would have been put out of business a long time ago. This world is cut-throat and especially with technology and gaming advancement. Cut Jagex some slack, the Mods are nice people too and they should be commended for the hard work they do each day for all of us. Ones like myself who are grateful for it, and the ones ungrateful who take Runescape for granted entirely.

Perhaps one day you and others like you may see some truth in what I've said in this post.

EDIT: Bug Fix
I'm on YouTube - Search me at Littlejayberry . Or don't. Up to you.

how do cosmetics provide an advantage?
------------------
the same way the lodestones give an advantage/less work without questing for fairy rings

lower levels can look cooler without having to buy with ingame money they might not have yet, or they don't have to do quests for the 'cool thing' they liked (random example: beads of the dead necklace)

a lot of people go to great lengths to obtain a certain item (for the look of it)

I feel bad for the OP that many people don't understand this, just wanted to add an example (only read first 20 pages)
