The Ingame advantage is so small it is stupid to spend money on them... And with the bank spaces people have asked for that since I started playing in 07 they even said they are willing to by bank spaces that's how much people wanted it. They do what the community asked then get ridiculed. It's pathetic...

Whether or not the advantages are large is insignificant.

Jagex had a code, and they are now completely going back on their code. This makes them, as a company, untrustworthy.

Woah, chill out. Many other games like LOL, TF2, MS, successfully run micro transactions. All the items bought in SGS do not give you extra power in game. They are slight bonuses that do not affect how other people play the game.

LoL TF2 and MS are all F2P games, Runescape is the only large game that I know of that offers microtransactions to its P2P community.

I still like certain aspects of the game, I just despise Jagex, the company who made the game.

WoW offers microtrans to their p2p costumers. And let's just say the price for what you get is a lot worse over there.

If you hate not having something cause you can't afford it; here's a tip

Instead of buying a bag of chips you'll devour in 5 minutes, save the $3.99
Instead of buying a new pair of shoes, when you obviously haven't worn out your current ones; save the $15.99-$2,999.99

just two examples. The point is, if you want something bad enough, then cut something else out you want less. If you don't want some outfit for your character on Runescape bad enough to skip a couple bags of chips, then don't sit here on the forums and complain about it. Personally, the reduction in junk food has done me pretty good. If you're playing this game, you've got the money to spend to buy something if you want it bad enough.

Jagex selling his own game items and that is not rwt.

You don't even own the items you "buy",

Everything in game is staying property from Jagex. :)

@Hazel Kyria: I just googled WoW's microtransactions; They are selling cosmetic pets and mounts and all the players are freaking out whereas when Jagex is doing it people are defending them.

Just because I can afford to buy the latest Solomon's item doesn't mean I have to buy it. This isn't about what is affordable and what is not, this is a matter of ideology and how Jagex has betrayed its ideology. Even charging one cent for something cosmetic would be against the spirit of the game.

I also believe that people that are paying Jagex for such things are simply reinforcing their new beliefs. Jagex is raking in tons of money over people who are simply alright with cosmetic micro-transactions and gambling spins, and I do not wish to participate.

@x Marusha x: First of all, Jagex is not a guy, it's a company of many people. Secondly, I know nothing in the game belongs to me, but I am a customer that wishes that Jagexy will grace us with its morals of olde.
