i had been debating to cancel my membership ever since the game card promotional items. i mean why should people who pay a certain way get extra stuff. honestly the game card promotions did not interest me at all but i hate how thats one less cosmetic i could get in the actual game. while i had no interest using it on a regular base i woulda probably found a use for machinima purposes or something if it were actualy game content.
since i had no interest i didnt cncel my membership at that point but the fact jagex were treating others for a specific payment method really started to make me mad.
the last nail in the runescape and jagex coffin for me was when sof buyable spins came out because that sold effective exp via gambling. i was not ok with that in the slightest why should some noob be able to buy their way to the top and never actuallly play the game and being ranked in the highscores because of it?
as some1 who actually runs a business i can tell you that jagex (IVP) are using faulty business practices. they are completely ignoring major business rules when creating content now. such as the costumer is always right (in this case a majority) and they havent even polled us for these things, credit card security measurements (when sof was first released a hacker could charge $200 a day easy) even the 3 digit security code thing isnt that secure as its only 3 digits, soliciting gambling to young kids (jagex knows kids play this game and to those kids rs items have value when those items get put on a wheel and they win a cabbage instead of a gs or something those kids will get addicted trying to win that gs just cause the thing might land close to the item they wanted and they start thinking just one more spin over and over again and by the time they do win it theres something else on the wheel they want.)

these new areas make runescape feel too much like one of those facebook games that the only way you can get anywhere after the initial levels is to pay gobs of money to get and do the "good" stuff. While i have enjoyed some of the distractions, stars and penguins, it feels like it is almost getting to the point where you can level without doing any "work" in the area in which you are trying to level. i find myself logging on and running from tears to pengiuns, to hanky points, stars, evil trees, circus, clan......... and the list goes on and on to get the "free exp" instead of going out and doing the skills in various areas around runscape. i am finding that i feel like playing less and less. when i first started i enjoyed the challage of going around and skilling and fighting various creatures where i could lose it all. Now with gravestones bah if i die so what. i still love playing the game but i find myself taking more time between sessions. its the only game i play online, so for now i will keep playing, but i wish they would slow do with the cosmetic stuff and stick to quest and inside content

I'm completely support you. I quit after 4 years of membership when it was possible to buy spins to the squeal of fortune. I think it was the night before the update or on the day they changed the code of conduct (I think) to say that it was only RWT'ing if it was with a third party. They changed the rules so they wouldn't be breaking them. RuneScape really has gone down lately. Inisght Venture Partners are all about the money and Jagex doesn't have a say. It's not about the players anymore. Bringing out a discontinued item on the squeal is proof of that.

Just be quiet.
If you don't like buying cosmetic items, just ignore the store.
The things in the store will not give an advantage in game.
Until Jagex add something to the store that gives an advantage, then I'll rage with you.
