hey everybody, lets get this week kicked off. Who do we have around?

Well I am here. Sometimes. Off and on.

Will there be no discussion thread dedicated to the dark lord pack?

Also a question for Mods (or players) if they'd like to answer:

Lately more and more of the non-retro overrides cannot be recolored. Why is that?

I am on the fence with recolors because sometimes things look better without the recolor color choices. But then I wonder: Would this mean there should just be better color options?

Is it easier and faster to develop cosmetics that don't have recolor space?

Quick chat checker ( [Enter] T I 2 is my bread and butter) and API digger extraordinaire. Makes me think of a post you placed elsewhere...

Original message details are unavailable.
shhhhhhhhhh

All will be revealed soon

You're going to have to do better than that to hide things from me. Chameleon extract in 1, 3, and 6 pack. 23 skin tones. All from GEDB API & SGS Config API. :)

Hey Dalia, just to let you know that creating outfits without recolour spaces is much easier. You don't have to consider different combinations and how that will look in the world. Trims and accents of colour are easier but having large blocks of recolourable area limits the definition and detail an artist can put into a piece.

Thank you Mod Conor. I figured there were reasons.

Recolor areas do make it easy to bring different costume pieces together, since they'll blend together better with similar colors.

As long as some new items still have recolor options, then having ones without is fine too.

Hey hey! How is everyone's Tuesdays going?

I'm back in Jagex HQ after a weekend at Disneyland - I had an internal struggle to not bring in my Mickey ears...

I totally should have brought them in. ;-;

Going badly. Just found out early this morning that although you're finally bringing out new skin colours, they aren't permanent unlocks, which means they're practically worthless to me no matter the cost.

On the plus side, I am glad you enjoyed your vacation =)

How, exactly does this limit things? I see that the skyguard outfit can be recoloured on every feather. The werewolf outfit used to have all the fur recolourable, but I'll assume the line highlighted above is the reason you guys decided to take that away from us over a year ago. It's a shame really, recolouring that outfit wasn't always just a single color. It had a secondary colour option so to speak. I guess you could say that I'm just using this as an excuse to ask why this team seems to hate loyalty items or the people that made them again.

Speaking of colours, is there any chance we can ever get:
white instead of "creamy almost-white but not really"
Black instead of "really dark blue or grey"
Red instead of "reddish, but sometimes pink" (told to me by a friend)

Excited for the upcoming things. Chameleon extract possibly.

I'm also hoping you guys are open to new ideas, so there can be even more cool things to be excited about.

Question: how soon before an outfit is released do you actually start working on the 3d design and modeling the piece?

There is no set amount of time before release we start working on an outfit, we fit it in around everything else.

Some outfits have been made with very little time between making and release. Others have been made months in advance. Others may have been made for 1 month but then moved due to schedule changes.

Also the detail level of the outfits makes a difference on the amount of time we have to spend on things.
