Now what about those of us who had our accounts hijacked before this update? Like me, over a year ago someone in Portugal got into my personal mail account, and then spammed Jagex with recovery attempts until they got in, and then cancelled my bank PIN. I was away for a while and had no idea this was happening. At the time I had a complex alpha numeric code and told it to no-one. I had 3 Partyhats and a bunch of other small rares stolen from me. I suppose this update was made with people like me in mind, but seriously, a login from Portugal when I have never left the USA? Why wasn't my account locked straightaway?

nice name ^. A similar thing happened to be but i lost my one and only phat :/. Getting hacked is god awful and depressing. Im so glad they made this update to hopefully shield players from this terrible and unnecessary experience of having their things stolen

I set this up but one of my questions I keep on getting wrong. I play from the hotspot on my phone so the IP is always changing whenever I start tethering. I've been skipping around the different emails hoping that I don't get the question.
Love the idea though!

How exactly will this protect my account from keyloggers or malware? These are the only threats to account security that aren't extremely easy to avoid. I'm disappointed that Jagex chose to release this instead of the external "anti-hijack system" device that was announced a few years ago. While I appreciate the concern for player safety, I must honestly admit that I don't feel like my billion gp worth of rares is any more secure than it was a few weeks ago.

I try enabling the new security but i get no mail to my email address whys that? =/ and i try checking on my rs settings if its the right email address yet it doesnt show anything. iv checked my email like 40 times now and no msg from jagex/runescape what shall i do?..

hey i got it up and running its a great idea but didnt realise you needed recovery questions to add another ip address, problem is i dont remember mine so i carnt add my pc and my laptop is about to die on me =( how do i get around this because otherwise ill have to cancel membership purely because i carnt get on?
