If they sold GP directly, everything would go down. It's very rare to get anything good from SOF, you'll have better luck with PvM and doing other activities, like staking.
Selling something indirectly and directly are two way different things, atleast on this matter

And yes, I know what you mean, indirectly is still selling, but this is a game of chanes and like I said previously, there are alot of junk in the SOF too. As long as the money goes into good updates, I'm ok with it.

@Heatly aka moron that somehow got a blue phat
They wouldn't make 15 times more from directly selling gold and xp because no body would play then, what would be the point?
The point is, Jagex said that will not be selling gold and xp in the future. But, technically, they are selling that stuff now. Just because the 200m prize is rare, doesn't mean a 12 year old rich kid isn't going to stop buying spins until he is maxed with 1b cash.
Just because it's rare that they sell gold (not so much xp since it is common to get xp from SoF) doesn't mean they aren't SELLING GOLD AND XP.

I'm glad to see Jagex continuing to combat gold selling companies and botters. Throughout my Runescape experienced I've noticed that the vast majority of botters belong to the popular gold selling websites that we get spammed from so much. Do to the large amount of accounts botting frequently, It seems that combating bots with a case by case/individual method is somewhat ineffective. Unfortunately this makes it so that players can't expect every bot to be quickly removed from the game, even after being reported by multiple users.
I personally think Jagex is making an excellent choice by focusing on banning the owners of gold selling websites, and making it more difficult for them to accumulate gold through the use of bots. I've taken the time to observe and report multiple bots that I notice while playing Runescape, and have noticed that they remain in the same locations, unbanned, for days after I first reported them. I am not discouraged by this, but actually see it as a sign that Jagex is working to attack the source of botting, and hopefully eventually remove it from the game altogether.
As for Solomon's General Store and The Squeal of Fortune:
I don't find them to be greatly unfair, nor do I find them greatly abusable. my only complaint comes with the ability to purchase spins for use in the Squeal of Fortune. If I could think of two reasonable changes, one would be to limit the amount of spins a player can purchase within a certain amount of time. Another possibility is to create an alternate wheel where spins can be purchased, but all prizes are cosmetic or do not greatly benefit the player.
Overall, I think that Jagex is putting in great effort and progressing substantially in making a more fun game experience for all players. I look forward to future updates, and a more fair and bot free game. :D

This "address" was a waste of time.
1. Solomons does give an in-game advantage that affects game play - the bank spots.
2. Squeal of Fortune does allow people to buy xp.
3. You seem to update Solomons and Squeal constantly but almost no really enjoyable in-game content.
4. You ignore questers, both in terms of number of new quests, and making previous quest rewards obsolete, and not providing spins to compensate for the previously completed quests.
5. You have (ironically) given up on the Loyalty store in your emphasis on buying spins and runecoins.
6. Worst of all, you seem to forget that the best way to grow the game is to make really good in-game content to attract loyal, long-term members - instead you are focussing on milking extra from the loyal members you already have, by making us buy more bank space etc.
I understand fiscal realities - but there are ways to do this that build your underlying consumer base. People will start to leave the game because of these poor quality "updates".

I'll quit Runescape due to the EOC, only if a reasonable compromise isnt met between now and then.
Why?
Because the game is becoming far too overly complicated to play.
Put simply, I am unable to play those kind of games. That is why I came to Runescape initially.
Now they are making Runescape like all those other games I can't stand.
6725 hours spent on Runescape.
All to result in a game I can no longer play. Some investment that was.

what about your own rule you removed.. hiding your actions to add in the first place
"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape."
so much for that this post means nothing unless you remove it
