I personally don't have an issue with SoF at all. It's really a pretty good idea. I mean yeah, you can buy a ton of spins, but the chances of actually getting the 200mil is still REALLY LOW. I mean, does anyone actually know anyone that's gotten that yet?
As for SGS, that's what I'm most afraid of. In MMG's post, he says they will not sell xp or gold. What he didn't say was that they won't be selling items that are actually useful. e.g. - Godswords (or an SGS equivalent) or Rune Armour (again or the SGS equivalent). If this becomes an outlet for people to buy armor or weapons that are more than cosmetic, it REALLY compromises the integrity of the game. I don't want to see people that are able to buy items that give them good stats. Really, you should have to work to get in-game equipment that matches the work you've done.
Now as for the amount of SoF and SGS updates, yeah, they're happening a wee bit too often and are taking the place of real content updates. "10 New Epic Weapons and Shields" that are really just cosmetic skins, isn't a true, old-style Runescape content update. Content updates meant new quests, skills, minigames, visual updates, and features, but are now replaced with "Here's your chance to nab a new emote!"
I understand, though. If you need to make these updates in order to keep the game alive, please do so. I'm pretty sure I'm not ready for a life without Runescape, yet. But if SGS starts to sell any items with stats, it might start leading me down the path to get ready for a life with Runescape.
About the bots: Bots are some of the fastest evolving things in the world. I really, really like Jagex's attempts at fixing this. Don't hate them for trying.
Finally, someone posted on the first few pages that they believe there should be a new money sink for people with insane amounts of money. I whole-heartedly agree. A money sink would be nice. It could maybe even balance out the economy a little bit.
